a chinook just landed in a feild less than 150 feet from my house. i saw it at less than 75 feet from me! the thing is fing huge! to bad it's at night, otherwise i would take pics.

I found some pics of 18Sqn Chinooks during and just after the Gulf War, I'll try and get them scanned next week ;)

i would have, but it was for a medical airlift. i live really close to a military base and they'll take whateer they can get to get the people out.

I too have recently seen chinooks flying about. I took one pic but I have not developed it yet. BTW I like your 'sig' Jaffa, It is terribly true but in far larger numbers than 1,000.

last summer i was spending a few weeks in phoenix arizona, and i was out at my grandparents pool and 3 chinook's flew overhead. funny thing was, all three were painted in the winter camo in arizona. i dont know what base they would fly into out there. luke AFB maybe, but thats a good 40 miles north.

That sounds like an interesting night! :-)

Every once in awhile we will have a flight of 25-40 go flying over really low and in tight formation...

Really makes the earth rumble pretty good...

one time the low frequency vibrations that they caused knocked a picture off of the wall...:-)
