You haven't seen a down pour....

Postby Stormtropper » Fri May 21, 2004 3:03 pm

....until you experienced one of these ;D

Well, I just got back from school, and about an hour ago, the Detroit area had about 6 inches of rainfall in only 15 minutes!!! Plus there were 55 mile per hour winds and the sky was glowing bright green. When I stepped out side of my school, my foot sank into 3-4 inches of water! :o Truly an amazing experiance, very powerful storm.

Cheers

Looks like the same storm is heading my way. Supposed to rain all day tomorrow.

I've experienced a storm very similar like that in New Jersey...sudden dark green clouds appear, lightning, heavy rain, hail, severe winds, power outage, and to top it off a tornado touched down 4 blocks away from where we were. Visibility was very bad too....

lol...

We had a very similar storm here about 5pm today...:-)

Sky got darker than night, wind picked up, and for a minute there I thought for sure that a  tornado was gonna come out of those nasty looking clouds...

As for the thunderstorms pretty much all of last night, we didn't lose power once...(underground power..) but at work we lost our phones, as well as fried five of the electric spot welders...:-) they were pushing 70 years old anyway time to replace...

As a matter of fact I did. I live about 2.5 miles away from my school, and I had to walk home >:( >:( (I'm only 14, not old enough to get my driver's license >:() And a hot chick offered me a ride, but I chickined out and said "No thanks", damn my brain, never seems to be able to work properly when I really need it, which is about 24/7 ;D ;D

By the time I got home, I took off my T-Shirt and dropped it on the floor, came back 20 seconds later and picked it up and the carpet was soaking wet and water was still dripping from my shirt.

Well the storm passed and sun came back out, nothing is down, thank God

I am in Southwest Michigan and we got hit pretty hard, I didn't have power from the time I got home Friday until around 9:00 Saturday morning, We were lucky, there are areas around here that are not expected to have power back on until the middle of the week.
Still no linked images allowed around here Paz! Naughty...

We got hit last night. There was a F3 tornado that swept across a town about an hour and a half south west of where I am. The power went out here for a few seconds. Must of been a strong surge because our electric smoke detector went off. Good thing I wasn't on the computer at the time.

We got HAMMERED last night, but fortunately it disappeared as fast as it showed up.

At about 2:30 it started with a clap of thunder so loud that it woke both Sarah and I up...we sleep through everything, which shows the intensity of this storm.

'twas crazy.

On the plus side, it waited til well after we'd gone fishing.  lol
Great edit, Bob.
