Woohoo! I'm so excited!

Postby BFMF » Fri May 14, 2004 6:08 pm

Went to the airport for a normal flight lesson, did a some of take offs and landings, and after 6 of them, my Instructor asked me to come to a complete stop on the runway. Once I had come to a stop, she looked at me and asked. "Ready to go up alone?". I was totally shocked. I was a little hesitant, but I taxied back to the runway, let her out, and flew around the pattern a couple times! My first Solo flight! 8)

Once I was down and after I had secured the aircraft she came out and took a few pictures. When we got in the terminal she took out her scissors and cut my shirt up.

I can't wait untill my next solo flight 8)

Congrats...

But I see no photo of a cut up shirt.

Until that is seen, we at Simviation cannot properly certify your solo flight.

congratulations Andrew
And thats a lesson to prospective pilots out there, be prepared for your solo, because once it comes time for it, you dont want to be wearing your most expensive shirt :)

I wish I had thought about that beforehand. The thing is that when I flew last Wednseday, my performance sucked, my manaeuvers sucked, and my landings sucked. I was either coming in too high, too fast, over shooting when turning onto final, or coming in and screwing my landings up. I was sure that it would have been a couple more weeks of instruction before my instructor would have even dreamed of leaving me alone in the cockpit

When I soloed today I was ironically wearing a t-shirt with the local FBO/flightschool logo on it. Now I gotta buy a new one ::)

Nice one Andrew ;)
Believe me sacrificing a T-Shirt is a small price to pay for how you're feeling right now ;D
