I use to go this link when I found photography interesting. Not sure if it can help entirely.

My goal was to capture Star trails. Like this one...

That's a nice tripod, Ken!  Definitely much easier to handle and lug around than my beast of a thing!  LOL
Great edit, Bob.

Google it.

This one is the one I use for my digital camera, but I do  have another for my old heavy film camera....will post an image in a bit but I have a few things to do at the moment.....back soon......... 8)

.........oh no, mine has been misplaced in a move between rooms,......but........I did a search and found this one which I think will be just fine for a 35 mm camera if you get the ball head attachment.......

Craig, i don't know if you are using a digital SLR, but if yes, there are plenty of good websites and forums around who can help you. for instance: www.dpreview.com

at this time i'm also surfing those forums. i'm planning on buying my first digital camera in july to shoot some metal birds at airshows. a digital SLR such as the EOS300D is too expensive at the moment. right now, i think i'm going to get the Panasonic FZ-10. anyone experience with this camera?
