Has anyone else been duped by all this foolishness?

I don't see why rubber grip on your toothbrush is really going to help your dental health.  Sure it works perfectly on a computer generated model where a guy working for $8 an hour on gMax made it do that!  Also on those jaws they have that open a full 180*!  I tried the electric toothbrush, but it's so weak that I'm just going to use it a a fine sander for my model (if I ever get it).

Plus, ever notice the toothbrush the dentist gives you?  Not some fancy Oral-B Tryphlon G-Force Rubber Gum Massager Munbo Jumbo Mk III, but a standard toothbrush with Dentists of America or something stamped on it.

Sounds like a con job to me!

A dentist will give you the cheapest tooth brush possible because they want to keep keep their costs down. They will highly recomend you use something like an Oral-b, but they can't force you.

A lot of orthodontists prefer their patients to use 'em if at all possible

My dentist doesn't give anything away for free, except advice. Both he & my hygienist always recommend an electric toothbrush.

Orthodontist. Now there's a strange word. What is a dontist anyway? Is there such a thing?
I always wondered why it's not orthodentist. It's a funny old world.

I think the most importent is that one brushes his teeth. Beeing the son of a dentist ( my mother) i know everything about it. I always used a very simple model, but did it 2 - 3 times a day, wich resulted in my having not a singel cavitie! Tooth care is very important, it grants you a nice smile and besides, you'd miss your teeth when they're gone!  ;D

So brush!!!

Both of my parents work in a dental office (they're hygienists) and they thought the "Sonicare" electric toothbrushes did the best job.  Thats what they use-and they got me one too.  I like it a lot (even if it is a little spendy).

Here, every time I see a dentist they always try to give me a tooth brush, a small tube of tooth paste, some floss, and some additional stuff for my braces

I don't like electrical toothbrushes. What they can do in five minutes,I can do in two, with the same result.
