I think it is time for all of us to "chip in" a little. If we can manage to get an FS Sim game for around $40, and get a pc that at minimum is $700, I think we can all find it in our pocket, to pay a "fee" to enjoy this part of our hobby. The questions I have had answered are priceless in terms of a dollars & cents. I understand many don't have a credit card, etc...but we need to figure this out. People's parents could pay the bill each year as a birthday or holiday gift. I am sure that would work!

I think it should be voluntary, because new members would not come here because somewhere else is offering a free forum.

ONCE AGAIN...>:( >:(

We all have $20- thats not the problem!!

It's just that there isnt a way for some of us to get the money to simV- arghhh :o!!!

I'm sorry for being stupid but What do you mean? There isn't a way?

I'll give you directions:
1) Get a money order (you can get them in any country!!)
2) fill out the info
3)Put it in a envelope
4) Attach a stamp
5) PUT IT IN THE MAIL!!

Pretty easy now isn't it?

I don't think it will be quite as easy as that. Most people have the money. And most people would pay. However, due to what ever the reason might be, some simply will not be able to get the money to pete. For your method fret, we would need pete's address. And I don't think he'd be to willing to put that on the internet. :P

I think it should be voluntary, because new members would not come here because somewhere else is offering a free forum.  We need to get them in here for free then when they get the SimV vibe they will want to pay a small amount to keep this wonderful place alive.
How about after you have made 100 posts...you get a bill!  ;D
Those of us who are already over that,...it's time to pay the piper!!   :o

In addition to that, Pete has made very clear his dedication to keeping the site unchanged for members who choose not to join.

Dave. I still think you're missing the point. Although I would be one of the first to sign up as a full member there was never any suggestion that the forum comes into this. I don't know of any similar site where you have to pay to participate on the forums.
Sorry Doug, I was speed reading!!  ;D

wow, forget about a topic for a day or two, and I really need to do some backreading!

$20 is not a lot. Most people spend more then that alone on chewing gum in a year.

I figure if I drink a few less bottles of pespi a month, i'll more then make up for it ;D

Discrimination was mentioned. when the subscription service is implimented, I don't think the users should be able to tell who has or hasn't subscribed, imo

I'll be one of the first to Subscribe and help keep this great site running

Maybe you could take a picture of a check and post it here.  Pete could then print it and go cash it.  No muss, no fuss...   ;D
