This was my avatar until I changed my screen name to Hagar. Image

My Gremble is instantly recognisable & when they saw it everyone knew they were talking to Grumpy. There was no need for anything else. LOL ::) ;)

How Long Ago Was It U Had That? I Could Have Swore I've Seen It Before

But Anyway Rifleman Is Right; Some Of Them Are Just Small Billboards, I Think It Would Be Great If Some Could be Sized Down; But Not So Small That You Cant Even Really Tell WHat It Is. :)

NP...I prefer to use "live" examples anyway...that way there is an actual benefit to the example. :)

Dave, I wasn't mad or anything.  I was merely trying to express my frustration that despite my best efforts in clearly explaining it, there was still confusion. :P I'd never be mad at someone for just asking a question! ::)

When the forums actually retrieves it from the server, it loads the full size image, not the little thing you see.  The forum automatically resizes the picture.

Maybe this'll clear things up.

Just to clear things up on my end then, when I first registered I could not even understand how to display an avatar, picture, image or signature. Luckily Rifleman cleaned up my avatar and he told me that even though you load it to the server, it will automatically shrink it down. So that is what I thought ever since. I have only changed it 4 times and yes, I most likely loaded the full image thinking that it would resize. I guess you learn something every day!

No hard feelings Scorp.  ;D  ;D

I don't remember at any time relying on or even referring to allowing the server to reduce any images or file sizes....I do it all myself and have no recollection of that conversation. I do remember putting up a sort of short tutorial on how to minimize images using Photoshop 6 and optimizing them for posting on the web.......that was the first stuff which Dave was attempting to upload.......if I recall correctly, it was done with these images......
