Ahh I get now, you make your neighbors and your grandmother pay for it instead.  Great, in my book that is inching toward socialism where the govenment pays for all. Screw that. >:( :P

you obviously dont understand the medical system of the UK much like i dont know the Ins and outs of the US system. without getting into it as it'll turn political.

Umm.......... it sounds just like the Canuck system that uses the nations taxes to pay for the bills.

Wow!

Postby Scorpiоn » Mon Mar 08, 2004 5:15 pm

Not to sound insincere, but whenever I hear about "air-disasters" I often don't even blink.  Like the old joke goes, the B-52 on the dreaded seven-engine-approach.  Things like one engine cutting out or panels not working perfectly aren't too scary.  A drunk rabbit could fly a plane, and it seems nowadays that the whole use of a pilot is to save the plane when automatic systems fail.  But manuevering a plane, throttles only?!  That's just downright, jaw-dropping amazing!  I don't think I need to restate what's been already said here, but... jeez - that's unfathomable!  I'd be dipping into my account too if I was a survivor!

A salute to Mr. Haynes and his loved ones. :-*

This is a ridiculous argument. Craig is just expressing surprise at the cost of the operation that's all. I can't see any reason to take offence at that. ::)

PS. The NHS was introduced by a Socialist government soon after the end of WWII. It's by no means perfect but one of the best things they ever did.

ok my exact view. I do not agree with the system. For the simple reason if you dont have the ability to pay for something that expensive then you have to die. I know i could never afford that much money, its not a case of me saying a life isnt worth that much money its a case of i would never be able to earn that much money. And through no fault of my own i would have to die because of it.
I cant argue that a life is priceless, its the most valuable commodity on the planet. Like i said, parts of our medical system are wrong, thats what you get. We do pay for it in a way, what is called national insurance a certain amount of a paycheck will goto this every month. Like i said to go into details would get political and locked something which shouldnt happen with a topic like this. I am glad it worked out well for this pilots daughter, but also think, had this not been this pilot but just some girl growing up in a random town, would the same thing have happend for her? what makes her life any less precious than the captains daughter.

All right, I give up.  Look, I do not belive that this area is the govenrment's responsibility.  Yes there are flaws in our system, there are flaws in the UK and the Canadian systems as well.  Your life is your own responsibility, not the responsibilty of your neighbors.  It's just one more way to drain the resources of the country.

Along the same lines, it has been proven that people that live in countries that national healthcare don't take as good of care of themselves because the reprocusions of debt don't realy have an affect on thier bank account, so they take more risks.

Either way I am done arguing before Dave locks this topic.

All right, I'm back, I have to reply to this!  You mean to tell me that only the rich pay for this!?!  That is the most unfair thing I have heard in a long time.  It is the same issue in this country that it makes it "unfair to give taxcuts to the rich because they make so much money anyway", even though we bear 85% of the the nations tax burden. >:(

Hagar is good at explaining things clearly and accuratly so i will let him
