It's actually from Part 4 of Band of Brothers.

An American Airborne officer tried to tell a British tank commander that there was a hidden German tank behind the next corner, and that if he shot off a couple shells into a building, he would be able to see it, but he refused. Consequently, the British tank was destroyed.

I love the series, and I highly recommend it to everyone
