Wine Thief Soured by Bottled Surprise

Postby Fly2e » Wed Mar 03, 2004 8:52 am

Rather than give up his prize, a German wine thief cornered in a bar gulped down the contents of a stolen bottle, only to vomit repeatedly as the landlady had switched the wine with vinegar, authorities said Monday.
"He was caught in the act and fell over while running away," said a spokesman for police in the southern town of Schwabach. "I guess he thought 'I'd better make the most of this' and drank the stuff. Then he vomited up it and everything else he'd drunk."

Police said several bottles of wine had recently been stolen from the bar, and the landlady had replaced the wine with vinegar before the inebriated 19-year-old struck. Her partner detained the retching thief until police arrived to arrest him.

OK, which one of you is this?  ;)

I just spoke to him and he's coherent... Busy sorting out a load of German manuals I've been sending him ;D
Also Silent tends towards beer. I know its not me, but some of my students are on a trip to Germany at the moment, I think I'll send an SMS to one of my colleagues (please let it be Balint) ;D
