I can only fly around for so long before I want to shoot something down or go destroy somebody's  runway)

My kind of person!  ;D

Interesting ideas there, I just wait until we see the likes of Battlefield 1942 updated to the point where the aircraft are actually correctly simulated, along with authentic physics of the ground action......

Take a look at Battlefield 1942, and indeed its mod community, I think its the first of a new breed of games where theres something for everybody.
I often play BF1942 just to go stunt flying with the Choppers or Jets! many of my friends just like to do Tank battles others just like the close combat the infantry get into......

If Microcack decide to develop this idea, incorporating FS9's flight sim engine with a highly polished First person shooter games engine, then I thing we'd have game heaven. (after we'd all got Pentium 5 Psychotic editions......)  ;D

This is all very well but even if it were possible not everyone is interested in waging war. The civil version of FS has always been more popular than CFS.

This is the one thing I forgot to mention: I don't know if any of you have ever played Jane's Fleet Command, but not only are the skies and seas in that game are filled with your own planes and ships and your enemy's stuff, but there is also mix of civilan and neutral militaries as well.

[quote]Even If it didn't work and you had to install the whole thing, wouldn't it be worth it to be able to wage international, all miltary branch encompassing war?

Precicely. Shall we, ehh, storm the microsoft HQ, ohh say tomorrow? ;D

And the only solution for this case is to build a low-cost game with a bunch of blurred textures and few polygons! And certainly that's not what we're looking for!!!! Is it?  ::)

Come to think of it: yes it is, that would be even better!!!  As long as they did it so that it is like FS2004, where it is incedibly easy for the end users to create, modify, and add, textures and units, would we care?  NO, because then all we realy would need is the stuff that we can't write ourselves: the game engine.  We could use the end user gaming world to redo all the txtures ourselves and it would be great because, admit it, we build better textures then the companies do and would end up looking better in the end. :)

got a question. how's the relation between the age of a teenager and driving?
driving is allowed from 18 on in germany and i see many reports on deadly car crashes, in which 18 year olds were involved. and now i ask myself if the situation is worse in america where 16 year olds are allowed to drive. or do stricter laws there prevent accidents?

16 year olds here in the US get in a lot of accidents, but they don't seem to be deadly unless they were under the influence. I believe that how kiddies are trained is important to they're driving, 16 year olds seem to be pretty hasty and irrational with some of their decisions, but so can adults.

After all the pilot training so far, I feel like a much safer driver, you know all them ADM skillz... ::)

hmmm, GTA meets FS? hehehehe, bad thoughts a-brewin'

There is mid town madness, closest right now to driving sim.

i have always dreamed of a Driving/Flying sim where you are a person, and you walk.  you can walk up to a plane/car and drive away. you could walk into a terminal and pay fees, and make flight plans.  you could get speeding tickets and impede FAR's.  you could take an airliner and go off course, put the whole country on high alert and eventually get shot down.
whoa, getting too realistic.  to be honest, a sim like that would be so addictive, you couldnt get away from it, and you become that person.
