Im not much for replacing training real road training with sims either, but if they did make a sim for driving, I'd probably buy it. you know get to do things you wouldnt really try in real life, running from the cops in your home town, playing monster truck : ) etc...

got a question. how's the relation between the age of a teenager and driving?
driving is allowed from 18 on in germany and i see many reports on deadly car crashes, in which 18 year olds were involved. and now i ask myself if the situation is worse in america where 16 year olds are allowed to drive. or do stricter laws there prevent accidents?

M$ did a Monster Truck Madness sim some years ago. My friend got it bundled with CFS1. It was good fun & the graphics were excellent. It seems there is now a version 2. ;)

Now that I have got 54 years of sensible safe driving/biking under my belt, there's nothing I like more than loading up my MidTown Madness 2 and tearing around the streets of San Francisco in my Chevy Corvette, terrifying the inhabitants...just like Steve McQueen used to do... 8)...!
(...with invincibility turned on...).... ;)...!
LOL...!

Cheers all... ;D...!

My son (age 4) has that on his computer.  He'd rather play that than eat.  Sometimes we have to drag him away from the computer.  He's really good at NFS3.  Sometimes he says, "Here Dad, let me show you how!"

OK guys, I see you're all treating the idea as a training simulator! Well, this is far more than that!
Looks like you'll be all bored with a driving game where you have to follow the rules & everything, but you follow the rules on FS & TS and that's why these games were made for in the first place AND that's why they called them "Simulators"! I guess this whole problem can be solved EASILY by putting a "Race Mode" as a secondary option! So when u get really bored you can take a Moster Truck and crash all the vehicles on ur way, or take a cute little Diablo to 'cut' your way through traffic! ;)
And as I said; the idea of driving for fun might seem boring to u, but think of it a bit wider: Like putting some challenges (driving through a mountaneous road covered with snow!), or just driving on a straight road in the middle of the desert enjoying the sunset!
Take the game "Road Trip 2000" as a nice example for this project! It has roads up to 100 Miles long!

And by the way I liked the idea of Cvrt7.62Ghst! Implementing all these games together sounds real interesting and real HUGE (10 CDs at least! + 10 Gb HD space!)  ;) It's difficult but doable!

Got it Cvrt7.62Ghst! Good thinking!
Now tell me why nobody tried this idea before? although it would boost the company's sales chart??

Because, a flight system should have the outer textures and models for ground units in addition to their sound files!
So this way you'll save the disk space required for the inner files, estimated 100-200 Mb. maximum! Is that worth it? Or am I wrong here?  ???

This sounds like a great idea but I'm not sure it's practical. I never played online but the way I understand it is that you need the other players aircraft/vehicles/whatever installed in your own game so you can see them. This would mean that for inter-compatabilty between individual games they would all need the capabilities of the others. I suspect that you would end up with one expensive overcomplex simulator. Many people already have problems with CFS3 & FS9. You would need the latest all-singing & dancing PC to run it all on.

FS is gradually evolving into the world sim we would all like to see. I'm not the only one who would like moving traffic on the roads, trains running, passengers & ground vehicles at airports & all sorts of other goodies. This all takes time but I think we will get there one day. ;)

This is all very well but even if it were possible not everyone is interested in waging war. The civil version of FS has always been more popular than CFS. Many FS fans here hate the very idea of CFS & would never consider owning a combat sim. I've always thought they have the wrong impression of the CFS community myself but that's neither here nor there. I think the 2 are best kept separate. HD space is not the criterion these days. It's the complexity of the program itself & the power required to run it.

Your idea of inter-compatability between different sims could possibly work. I'm no programmer & can't say if it is at all practical. I'm quite certain you're not the first person to think of it & it might have already been tried for all I know.
