Airport Screener Sends Self Through X-Ray Machine

DENVER -- An airport security screener is in trouble for fooling around on the job.

In this case the security worker at Denver International Airport sent himself through an X-ray machine.

Mike Fierberg, spokesman for the Transportation Security Administration, says they have no idea why the guy did it. Fierberg adds the stunt didn't jeopardize the safety of any passengers or planes. But he says X-raying yourself is clearly not acceptable.

The screener, whose name hasn't been released, has been disciplined. Officials say the X-ray incident happened about three months ago.

hmmmmmmm. although it is kind of funny:)

I would think it's a tad risky for the person involved. They used to have X-Ray machines in shoe shops when I was young so you could check that your new shoes fitted properly. We used to like messing around putting our feet in there to see all the bones. :o These were banned when they suddenly discovered that X-rays are dangerous. ::)

Great, this is the kind of stuff I'll have to put up with if I get that Airport screener job that I applied for at ANC? :-/ ;D

I wouldn't think that would be enough to sterilize him.

I used to have a work supervisor that once told me that his father was in the navy during WW2 and wasn't too far from the nuclear bombings in Japan when they happened. I guess he was told he had gotten more then his share of radiation and would never have any kids. However, he did end up having atleast one, my supervisor.
