Money

Postby Scorpiоn » Sat Feb 21, 2004 1:11 pm

This is not what I was getting at. I'm not trying to blame manufacturers for all our problems.

I know, but I got carried away. ::)
As far as tax goes, there's a big difference between a retired engineer who's been working all his life and sacrificing everything for a good retirement, than a CEO or accountant, who can buy a Jaguar with their first paycheck.  I'm talking about the absolute extreme "top" .01% of society here.

Hitting them would not provide that much revenue. They tried it in the UK some years ago. The high earners including many pop & rock stars like the Rolling Stones simply emigrated & paid lower taxes in another country. Where's the logic in that? ::)

Yes, but it's easy to move around in Europe, but Americans stay in America!

Alas, I've never really expected filthy rich people to get what's coming to 'em: History says otherwise.  Back to daydreaming of a utopia... :)

And one less here.  People shouldn't be penalized more because they were more financially successful. ;)
Great edit, Bob.

I like you too. We seem to agree on the important things. We're also both as stubborn as the proverbial mule. ::) ;D
