Its on its way! Thanks for all your help and advice.

The one you posted the link too?
I was reading up on that one, it looks too be a good choice!
But allot of the reviews I have read about it complain about the fact they charge a extra $35 for the cable to connect to your computer (although they will send schenmatics too make your own).
Make sure when you get it post your opinion!!
I like the idea of being able to program it via your computer!
I wonder if you'll be able to make "frequency files", so you can bundle police, aircraft etc in seperate sections so when you want the law you can just push a button and scan only law channels, and when you want aircraft you can scan only those?
That is what I want in a scanner, the way most are you have some priorty spaces you can fill but that sucks when you pick up a transmission on another channel you are interested in it gets cut off because of a transmission on your priority channel.
But I'm really curious about the programing by computer!!
That sounds like it might be the easiest way to set up a scanner yet! LET US KNOW!!

It arrived this morning (next day :o)

I didn't get from the place in the link in the end as the radio department was on holiday. I got it from this place: http://www.wsplc.com/ I think the speed of delivery speaks for itself! Unfortunately it didn't come with the accsesories.

Anyway im just figuring out how to use it at the moment! I have tuned it to the tower  frequency but I get a garbled message unfortunately - its almost intelligable but not quite which is abit anoying! Perhaps on the roof I might get a better signal.

I wonder if you'll be able to make "frequency files", so you can bundle police, aircraft etc in seperate sections so when you want the law you can just push a button and scan only law channels, and when you want aircraft you can scan only those?

I have managed to store the frequencies of the airport with the reciever so that if I go into a mode the frequencies are stored and I can just flick beween them easily. I think you can create seperate file's for different frequencies.

Anyway its all a bit complicated!

How far are you from the tower? and are you using batteries?
If your using batteries make sure they are fresh!! as a battery weakens so will the performance.

Good idea! I found that my minidisk charger works so thats fine. I'm using rechargable bateries but I'll need to get a few more if I want to use my camera and radio at the same time! I think I might get a charger to connect it to the car though.

Which frequency do you have the most luck with craig?
