No matter what your personal opinion on the matter, the whole thing boils down to the manner of thinking that has been mentioned here several times, if the media would have left it alone, no one would have even noticed exactly how much of Janets breast was actually visible, the cameras cut away so fast that you really couldn't tell, so this whole thing is the medias fault for showing the world the clip over and over and over again, not to mention the blown-up still shots that are all over the web at this time.

Well i didn't read the whole post, so excuse me if i repeat anything:

Just one thought: WHATS THE BIG DEAL?????

Jeez, i see lots more when i go to the beach! ever heard of monokini's? people are so offended by a little streak of flesh, but at a beach they hoss around with almost nothing on! Get serious!

Ok, it isn't a good idea to show full frontal nudity in front of millions of spectators.  But this? i saw some off the dancing of those two, thats quite explicit to isn't it? Should they ban that to? What about the Christina Aguillera's and Brittney Sprears's of this world. There clips are a lot worse, yet no-one seems to bother.

I think the American media is hypocrit about it. Show decent manners, ok, but don't overdo things like that.

Why don't they start dealling with the real issues first. i've seen a lot off warshots lately that make my stomach turn, yet no problem. Movies, games and series bulk with violence, to sick for words. But hey that's all ok!

Oh well, it's got me started. Better cool off a bit.  :)

OMAG
After watching this post grow and seeing all the post I believe I see what most are complaining about. The three biggest  telecast sports (NASCAR, Basketball finails, and the footbal "bowl" games) are family events. Most parents do not let their younger children watch questionable programing on purpose. The biggest problem is that the game was live and the parents had no control over what their kids were watching. While its true that we could just not let the kids watch the game, it takes from the family a shared event all can enjoy. I an not a football fan but I do watch the superbowl with my wife and the kids. My kids were in bed by the halftime, but I live on the east coast where the game started at 6pm. I am glad the CBS decided to "delay" future live events by a few minutes to catch this stuff.

Speech done, off the soap box

SORRY to repost this but its for omag
Now I said portrail--I know this was planned.
But to a child or young teen they saw what appeared to be an unhappy or shocked Janet--the suggestion was that it was NOT CONSENTUAL.

thats the big deal

Once again the topic on news radio this morning was focused on the boob.
There is now a class action lawsuit pending!
Now this has really gotten way out of hand!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Allot of the callers were making the same complaint about what the children seen or (didn't see which is more likely).
And one of the main points many callers had was that it was on "broadcast" tv. Whereas if it were on cable (satilite) it would be different because on cable channels they are a little more "risky" and because you know that something "might be seen", on a cable tv program, "you have warning" that something you might see may offend you. "WE didn't have any warning" a caller stated. BULLSH*T!  If you were watching the whole song and dance(extremly provocative!) you had about three minutes warning that this isn't appropriate for young children!!!!!!!

When will people stop using "Oh, what about the children" crap for their own purpose?!

My GOD ! you let them sit there and watch all the other crap being sold and many of you make the point of watching the SB just for the ads selling BEER,CONDOMS,and VIAGRA (or other alternatives) each that last for allot longer time than a boob shot! and each equally if not more hard too explain to a child if questions arise!
So allot of this blame should fall in the hands of the people who use television, video games, computers and whatever means as a babysitter! The PARENTS should have been offended at the dance routine of what was almost sex and changed the channel!! Not wait!! The warnings were there for a long amount of time so the parents are too blame on the fact that thier kids might have caught a shot of a breast!!!!!! BROADCAST TV OR CABLE DOESN'T MATTER!!!

Live TV is exactly that live and you can't always predict what might happen! What if the camera was just panning around taking shots of the crowd and a woman pulled up her shirt for all of the world to see? Who do you blame for that? No different now is it? Oh wait yeah it is! That woman wasn't a "high profile celebrity" thats it, makes all the difference in the world! Those celebrities should know better. BULL!
As far as "We didn't have any warning", once again BULLSH*T! For the past 15+ years it has been accepted for a number of "taboos" to appear on television and it gets more risky every year, "pushing the envelope" is a modern day trend!
For example: Queer eye for the Straight guy ( a program of 5 openly gay men who give a straight man a make-over and fix up his house) "I think you are putting too much time in thinking about Dick" (refering too a guy named Richard) I knew the little joke the guy meant and so did others, this was on broadcast tv, Prime time, explain that to the kids!

I had no warning!!!! I'm so offended to this referal too a male body part! I'm filing a class action lawsuit stateing emotional disstress!!! OH MY GOD MY KID HEARD THAT!!!

See how stupid this is?

Point is everyone has "warning" everytime they turn on the TV no matter what time a day, no matter it be Broadcast or cable, no matter what. You never can be sure of what kids may see on the TV! I've seen live Newscast that a someone flashed, or used foul language, no one ever bitched about that!
And too keep saying football is a family sport, that is fine if you are into exposing your child too "legal violence" ,
"Daddy why did that guy just pound that other guy into the ground like that? Is he a bad guy?"
"No dear, it just a game."

"Violence is just a game" neat little slogan.

W4P: " But to a child or young teen they saw what appeared to be an unhappy or shocked Janet--the suggestion was that it was NOT CONSENTUAL"

Please don't take me wrong and think that this is a personal attack, and yes I do see your point and it is a good one, but :

I also wittnessed that :

It was ok to have sex with multiple partners, as long as you wear a Trojan Condom.

Beer, is funny.

You get a horse to fart into a candle, it becomes a flame thrower.

Little kids saying HOLY SH*T, is cute.

Viagra will make your woman happy. etc.

And these were payed for (a ton of money) and accepted.
People look forward to these commercials! and you never hear anyone complain about the content, all you hear is how good they were, or how funny. Never how inappropriate they were or what kind of effect on the kids they might have!!!

But I guess that will be all I'll say on this topic, I want to stop before I get everyone here to dislike me!
I appologise if I have said anything that has offended or upset anyone here, not intended! Just voiceing my opinion and nothing personal against anyone.

Fret,

You have it exact! 8)  You never know what you will see nowadays!  Even with commercials!

I would have a hard time explaining what "queer" even meant to a little kid!

Dick Tracy:

This old-time show use to be in the air for all the lil kids to see. What would happen if a parent heard one of the characters say "Hey Dick." ::)

I also saw Queer Eye For the Straight Guy. Just like you said, it is on Broadcast TV.

I usually go to South Beach in Miami. One time, I saw a fine-@%% girl [looked to be about 17-18 yrs old] wearing what would look like a G-String. And if it wasn't a G-String, then it was a REALLY-REALLY-THIN thong. ;D

However, a thousand people passed by her and looking at her. NO ONE COMPLAINED. Even the many parents that were in the beach did not even complain. Not only that, the beach is littered with little kids running around.

I even saw some women with their tops off in front of everyone. Still, no complaints. I didn't even see one parent trying to cover the eyes of the kids. In fact, I think the kids saw them but the parents didn't notice. :P

In conclusion....... shyte happens wherever you go. Welcome to modern life. The 60's ways are obselete.
