 Damn! I went to bed before the halftime show and missed all the excitement.

 What's the big deal anyway? It's just a boob, funny how it's okay for woman to breastfeed in public, but if they show a boob just for the heck of it, it's considered wrong or obscene, I just don't understand how something as awesome as boobs can be considered bad, in some countries it's as natural for woman to go topless as it is for men.
 Freaking out about an exposed boob is silly in my opinion.

Isn't plain to see. This goes back aways to a topic in the Music forum about "real music".
The "pop" music is going away fast and the stars are needing new ways to keep the media focused on them.
Britney/Madona, Britney Wedding, so on and so on.
Also you could plainly tell that the only performances that were not "Milli/Vanilli-ed" where Toby Keith/Willie Nelson, Aerosmith, Kid Rock.
But Paz is right, I don't see the breast as being anything to be offended by, everyone has them, and just because Janet's is prettier than mine should be all the more reason too show it
And the point Paz makes about the breast-feeding in public is so true, why is it only ok to bare youself if a kid is attached? And I have seen this done in all places, on a airplane, in a restraunt, at concerts (not all were feeding though:) ) etc.
Once again it is the "fine-line" between right and wrong.
And how easily people get offended by something as stupid as this.

what i find funniest about this, is britneys new video she actually bares more than what was shown last night for alot longer. This is a singer who is supposed to target kids of 11 and 12. Yeah good image there. But everyone complains about a 1 second slip on tv, which is mainly being watched by older audiences. And again apparently justin is saying it was an accident. I am more dissapointed thatthis is overshadowing what was perhaps the greatest game in superbowl history

 I think that's the point.  Boobs are great(!) but there's a time and place for everthing and the middle of the Super Bowl is not one of them.  

 Also there's the reason why it was done, which was to shock people in a self serving attempt to bring the participants of the action into the spotlight.  If Janet wants to flash a boob or Justin wants to rip the cloths off women let them do it in their next music video.  Lets face it, thats probable what they'll end up turning to to keep their musical careers alive.

I have long since stopped watching the half-time "entertainment".  And could not be happier I missed what happened.  I am by no means a choir boy, but now that I have a son-2 1/2yrs-- I am scared to death of how society's view of what is acceptable seams to jump by leaps and bounds from one year to the next.  I see and hear things on TV that give the "next generation" their idea of what is acceptable in the world.  TV unfortunately, is the window to the world for children, since they have little in the way of "life lessons".  If you see it on TV--as a kid you think well it must be OK.  

The superbowl is the most widely watched program in the world--no wonder 30secs. costs you 2.3mil.--it is on during the middle of the day(US), and is not viewed by adults only--people need to start THINKING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know I sound like a prude, and sometimes can't believe what comes out of my mouth (i sound like my parents for ***** sakes!)--but believe me, I have spent many a day in county cells and many a month in rehab centers--and tv was quite tame when i was a kid....

Once again so many are offended!!! Get over it!
What was shown there for a split second you can see a full 3 minutes of at any time on MTV, or a half hour of on a daytime soap opera. It is now the year 2004, times change so deal with it!!
Like my earlier post states, it seems fine with everyone for a woman too breast feed in public, but if a child is not attached it is a step below porn.

Same thing could happen when that same child sees a woman breast feeding in public, or that kid takes one of his dad's beers, or takes a condom to school, or starts a fight because the players were doing it, farts into a candle, steps outside and says "Holy SH*T" etc.

I think some of you are missing the point here.  The Superbowl is probably one of the only times a whole family will sit down to watch something together.  That means little kids and all.  Is this appropriate for them to see?  Yes.  Plus, breast feeding is very different.  People can understand that.  It is a natural part of life that sometimes has to happen.  However, is it necesary to just show off?  No.  Nobody really good played dutring the halftime show anyway.  Janet and Justin know their careers are rapidly declining, mostly because, well, IMHO they stink!

I hope the FCC sues Viacom for everything they are worth!!

I think this can qualify as public indecency.

I do have to agree that the NFL is in serious trouble as far as drugs and violence goes.  Don't think it has an influence?  Check out somoe schools here.  More than half of the student population where my friend goes to school are potheads!
