Is there life on Mars... ::)...?
..of course there is... ;D...!
We think that giants only live at the top of beanstalks down here
But up on Mars due to the low gravity they have giants there as well... 8)...!
My mate Bill, who works at NASA, told me, (on the quiet), that they had received two messages back from the Rover  just before the signals stopped...
The first bit of data indicated a crunching sound.
The second piece of data, after running it through a voice processor, came back with the sound "BUGGAR".

It is now reckoned that the "Giant" has the Mars Rover stuck to the sole of his boot... :'(...!

LOL...!

everybody is always joking about Windows and M$, but at the same time, 90% of us uses Windows as OS and has M$ FS!  ;)

Yeah, I was just joking about the Windows thing, I love Windows XP, it hasn't given me any trouble at all in the 2 years I've been using it, Windows ME was a nightmare though.

You think Windows Me gave you the most trouble?

I use to have Windows 98 on my old-@55 computer [now gone, thank god]. It always gave the dreaded Blue Screen of Death after I did absolutely NOTHING, the snail's pace that always tested your patience, a CD drive that never cooperates and then jams later in its life, a recovery disk that does nothing, a hard drive full of god-knows-what and all other sorts of junk, and the list will go on for as far as a mile away.

With my new and kick-@55 computer, along with Windows XP Home, I never had a problem ever since.

EDIT: I think Marvin The Martian paid a visit to the Spirit rover. Where is Bugs Bunny when you need him? ;D

;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D

It used to be that the moon was a symbol of romance - so many songs written about the moon. Now the moon is full of junk (space garbage). How many incapacitated vehicles are there on Mars? Soon Mars also is going to be full of junk. If this keeps on, the Martians are going to be teed off and they will zap all of us on earth. We should leave Mars alone.

Did you ever consider it was your system & not the OS? I've been using Me since it was first released. No problems at all. ;) Same applies to Win98 which I used before that & Win95 for that matter. I've seen more problems reported with WinXP on this forum alone than all other versions of Windows added together. ::)

....Sliding gently sideways from a discussion on the Mars Rover over to Microsoft oprerating systems... ;)...!
I seem to find that most all of the problems I seem to get, (blue screen of death, etc, in Win '98se), seem to be caused my Norton taking control of my computer, invading the whole of my system registry, and occasionly changing various binary digits from a zero to a one, and vice versa*... :'(...!
Norton takes over the whole of ones computer, and what is really annoying is the fact that my Norton doesn't include an "un-installer", (and it doesn't appear in the "add-remove" program list),  to completely clear the whole program out, including all reference to it in the System Registry... >:(...!
..another rather strange thing is that if I try to Install it again, (I have a registered, paid up, anti-virus version), I get a report: (You do not have administrator rights to install this program. Please contact your Adminisrator".... :o.. :o.. :o..!
...as the computer belongs to me, and built by me, what the flippin' 'eck does this mean...???
Having got rid of Norton manually, the last couple of weeks I haven't experienced so many problems... ;D...!

"We now take you back to Mars for the latest reports...."

LOL...LOL..LOL...!

Cheers all... ;D...!

Paul.

* ..either that or the big giant on Mars is getting peed-off with NASA sending all the junk up there, landing on his head, that he is sending high powered electro-magnetic signals back down to zap my computer... ::)...!

Hi Doug....!
I did all that...(Norton Utilities), but it doesn't un-install the main Anti-Virus part of the program.
That's still left in the System Registry, ready to destroy all my programs and leave me with the dreaded Blue Screen of Death every two minutes...LOL...!
...LOL...!

Cheers Doug... ;)...!

Paul.

..lovely, sunny, warm, Hereford at the moment... 8)...!

P.S. ..the only way I could COMPLETELY get rid of Norton anti-virus programs was by deleting the Folder and going into the System Registry, (a bit dangerous. ::)....), and deleting every entry referring to "Norton"... :o...!
...sorted... ;D...!
It terrifies me the way that Norton takes total control of the whole of your computer system.. :'(...!

..lovely, sunny, warm, Hereford at the moment... 8)...!

Lovely morning here too. I have just come in from a pleasant stroll along the beach. ;)

Meanwhile, I have never had a problem with Norton myself - Norton AntiVirus or any other of their numerous & extremely useful utilities. (Note that NAV is a separate program on my system.) Same goes for Win95/98/Me - No BSOD - no problems at all (touch wood & whistle). 8) :P

I have no idea what this has to do with Mars, broken down vehicles, giants or little green men. ??? ::) ;D

PS. Did you hear that "Our Bill" is up for an honorary knighthood? ;)
