I think everyone knows my opinion on these "sky marshals" by now so I won't labour the point.

I couldn't help noticing that in the photo the marshal is sitting in a window seat next to a rather large gentleman.

Quite how he would expect to do anything about a terrorist aboard the aircraft defeats my wildest imagination.
Not only that but I'm wondering about the sense of identifying the man by publishing a photo of him.
I thought these people were supposed to be working undercover.  ???

as far as this story in particular, maybe. but i would imagine it happens alot, being stuck on the plane all day your bound to get caught up in conversation, as for sitting by a window, when ya have a gun you dont need to be in an isle seat:)

I beg to differ. His range of vision & fire would be extremely limited wherever he sat. A window seat would be even worse as in most aircraft the lockers restrict head room. I like window seats & it's often difficult for me to stand up straight. Besides, have you ever sat in a window seat, even next to a normal sized person, & tried to get out to go to the toilet?

The first thing that I thought of was how uncanny it was that someone "happened" to snap the photo at the appropriate time.
I also thought about the guy and his job and then being stuck by a big guy!!

I dont trust them on board really. They make a differance, it has yet to be prooven whether its a good or bad differance yet.
