I didn't think of that, till you said it.  But now he'll probably get a fine or...something. ::)

Don't worry, that kind of happens in the US too.  Drug dealers get life, a murder gets out after so many years.  Thats an exaggeration though... :)

That is true!
The Justice system in the U.S. is the most confused and corrupt anywhere.
If you have money you can do anything, and get away with it, well maybe a slap on the hand!
And that isn't exaggerated!

Interesting. Justice is usually thought of as blind & therefore unbiased.
Themis became the Graeco-Roman Goddess of justice and order. She is the impartial deity who sits blindfolded in Hades and judges the souls of the dead to determine whether they will pass to the Elysian fields or the fires of Tartarus.

The only exception I know is the golden statue on top of the Old Bailey (Central Criminal Court) in London - the most famous court in the world.
What is unique about the statue of Justice on top of the Old Bailey?

SHE IS NOT BLINDFOLDED. "JUSTICE IS NOT BLIND AT THE OLD BAILEY"

I suppose it depends which way you look at it. ::)

corruption...

From the TV series "Family Guy"
Peter: Please let my dog go,he's our best friend and we need him,he's a member of our family.
Judge: Sorry, but the law is the law and it can't be bypassed by pretty words.
Peter: I'll give each twenty bucks.
Judge: Deal,you can go!
