Nice view...

Postby Wing Nut » Wed Dec 03, 2003 1:35 pm

In the last hour as I've sat here by the computer, I've seen three 747's (2 Lufthansa, 1 KLM), a 757,  one 737, and about a dozen of those little business jets that look like a miniature MD-80...

Oops, there goes a Swiss Air 767 or an Airbus.  Unfortunately, I'm not good enough to tell some times.

you've been drinking the local water again havent you:)
didnt you get the warning to only drink bottled water or boil the stuff you get from the tap.
lucky chap though, just wish bristol would get a better selection of planes, bring on the runway expansion and trans-atlantic flights that begin next spring:)

Pippin. If these were something other than flying cigar tubes I might be interested. You admitted yourself that it's difficult to tell one from another. I think we need to have a little chat. :P

Now a United 737...

You pretty much get the idea.  I live right near the glide path for runway 32L at O'hare.  I get this view most days.  When I don' I get to see them taking off!  ;D

Yeah Doug, you know what I prefer to pretend to fly.  :)  But when a 747 or a or a 777 comes floating past your picture window, it's a little hard not to respect that!  I also found a spot to sit and watch that's right by the touchdown and takeoff point about 200 feet from runway 22!  Close enough to smell the jet fuel.

I must admit to doing that myself once upon a time. Of course, in those days they were proper aeroplanes like the Ambassador, Viscount, Britannia, Super Connie, Stratocruiser, DC-6, DC-7 + the odd Comet & 707. ;)
