I found out by accident. I searched FS2002 online and found links to dowload sites. I found a link to premier aircraft design, than to SurClaro.com, which led me to SimV.

I too found out by accident, I happened to be searching for some help with FS2000... I happened upon SimV and some of the other sites in the process.  I have been around SimV for about three to four years now.

As I remember, I treated myself to CFS1 for my birthday in Jan 99. I'd been using Jane's WWII Fighters & Flight Unlimited II up until then & sometimes visited their sites for the latest patches. I hadn't been online for long & wasn't used to the WWW. I typed in a search engine & found a site named The Strip. The rest is history. ;)

I also found simviation by accident. Or was it fate? ;)

I owned FS98 and I was flying online with some buddies of mine.

All of a sudden, I saw someone's Cessna 172 flying around like a sports plane. It pulled stunts and everything.

Then, one of the online members had asked that person what he is flying. The person replied by saying that he is flying a P-51 Mustang.

The member then asked where did he get it. The person then said that he got it from simviation.

He said simviation like a word. He didn't say it like a web address.

So, I experimented by just typing in www.simviation.com

And voala!!!! There it is. The great Simviation website.

I got so hooked that I installed a great deal of addon aircraft to FS98. I had so much aircraft installed that the simulator started to load slowly. ;D

When I first tried to install an addon aircraft, I had no idea how install it. In fact, I had little or no knowledge of exploring an computer.

It took me a month to findout out the so-called Windows Explorer. It then took me a week to figure out how to install the proper files.

If it wasn't for Simviation, I wouldn't have known anything about the new releases that came after FS98.

Not only that. I wouldn't have learned anything about the existence of GMAX and I wouldn't have learned how to make addon aircraft.

I guess it was fate that drove me here.

I was just a little kid when my dad bought me FS95 [my first FS]. After that, I got hooked to the very thought of aviation all the way to the point of buying model aircraft.

But before I got FS95, I had no idea about what career I would like to get. I was even thinking about being a taxi driver. ::) ::) ::)

Now I'm wishing to be the best Air Force pilot in existence. ;D ::)

i think it is very appropriate, to me anyway that this is my 100th post.   does feel nice to remenisce(spelling?) i found SimV at the end of 2001 when i was just starting to drool over the new features in fs2002.  before then i never even knew you could put more aircraft into the game. i wasn't online until then, and i remember my friend having an airplane in fs2000 that i didn't, so i decided to surf.    after successfully finding links to aircraft for sale, i did a search on "simulated aviation" which led me here.  i downloaded aircraft from this sight for a little more than a year before i registered and besame part of the friendliest  community that i know.

now here we are............. ;)

A link on the MS site took me here.  This is the best site on the whole list.  It is very well maintained and offers superior downloads and knowledge compared to the other sites.

When I first nought FS98, the salesman told me I could download planes for free.  When I got home and installed the game I went looking on Excite and came across AVSIM then SimV.  I've been here ever since!  8) :)

I came to downloads by mistake too, I had CFS2 and just typed it in to see what came up. There was this site called something like 'Hot Cargo Pad', there were some nice looking 'fast planes' (didn't know what they were at that stage) there so I was very tempted to give it a go. I thought about downloading it for a week! I didn't even know what a 'download' did so it was quite a decision i thought a virus might jump out at me and kill the computer!!. Well in the end I decided to download it and it was great!
From his site a link led to SimV and ive been here ever since.
I think the chaps name was something like Chris Course, the website changed its name and then dissapeared, now I have lost the website name. So thanks to chris for introducing me to this hobby!

I got FS2k2 as a nameday present and after a week I wanted to fly some military helicopters. Then I discovered you could do carrier ops, and got stuck with ArrCab being added and working. A nice guy named Steve talked me through it, and I've been a dedicated SimV maniac ever since ;D

A friend of mine told me about CFS1 (which was the newest fs at the time) when I was a freshman in high school.  After I bought it, he discovered the addon world (and this site) and shared it with me.  That was like 5 years ago and I've been here ever since.

After flying with the Sinclair Spectrum/Amiga versions of flight simulators, then the P.C. versions of Flight Unlimited I, II, III, Pro-Pilot 99, (not to mention all of the helicopters!) then Microsoft's FS '98.
...got connected to the Internet for the first time, and did a search under "Flight Simulators".
Found Simviation, registered straight away on the old "Ultraboard Forum", sorted... 8)...!
It all seems a long time ago now... ::)...!
Subsiquently bought FS 2000 Pro, FS 2002 Pro, FS 2004 and CFS 2
Got a hard drive big enough to accomodate them all... ;D...!
Joyfullness... 8)...!
