1/64 Scale "Models"

Right.  A while back, I still wallpaper from when I was a kid, for some reason, when my room was repainted/re-arranged, the little dinosaurs never came off those chains that hang off your fan.  Some number of years ago, I just took 'em off, and have been reaching about an inch away from the spinning wheel of death ever since.  My question was, where can one buy 1/64 scale models, or rather toys, as I'm looking for something that won't break when pulled downward at the wings when attached at the fuselage.  I found a Corsair and two Zeroes at Wal Mart and nothing at Toys R Us.  Would I have better luck at a hobby shop, model shop or toy store?  I'm lookin' for a Corsair and a Heinkel.

Try KB Toys in the malls.  They usually have a nice selection of WWII and modern airplanes for some reason.

1/64 scale is an odd size for aircraft models, dicast or construction kit. There are loads of 1/72 scale dicast models around, including F4U's. Would not one of these do the job?

Yeah, I just mean something big enough to get a grip on, but small enough that they don't bring down the fan!

PS: I tried KB toys, but all I found were some Spitfires and, surprise, Corsairs!  But no Heinkels... Why so many Corsairs?  It doesn't seem to be that famous, yet it's the only constant.

i myself have a Focke-Wulff 190 A-5 (1/48) hangin' around in my room plus a nice 109E-3 (1/72) made of metal.

The only dicast Heinkel I can think of is the Corgi 1/72 scale model and that would be far too big to hang from a fan!
I'm thinking that if you are going to be grabbing at this thing, it will very soon fall to bits. Even dicast models have plastic props, wheel and other bits that will snap off as soon as you pull on it. I would suggest you get hold of a small brass aircraft.

Rats.  You're right.  While I know I wouldn't ruin it (just pull on the wings) somebody else would.  Probably my mom. Maybe a F4U and a Fw. 190?  But where to get them...

I did, but those are to-be-assembled models.  The things I need should be made of metal, with plastic props (the thing, not propellers (even though the propellers are props (is that cofusing?))).
Hawker, you reminded me!  When I went to Wal Mart I found a Corsair and two Zeroes, as mentioned previously, and my mom noticed they were made by Corgi.  I went to their website, and hopefully, by this weekend, I'll have an F4U and an He 111 for fan puller pulley thingies! The only person who'd break stuff on 'em is... erm... everybody but me. Time to start threatening people!

Why would you want to put a Corsair and a He111 on the same thingy?  They were in entirely separate theaters and never came into contact.  Why not a Corsair and a Zero or a Spitfire and a He111?

Well, the Corsair is my Favorite fighter, and the He 111 is my favorite bomber.  And... umm... okay thats it. Wait!  What should be what?  Light and fan, Corsair Heinkel, oh no!  Time for a poll!

Well Scorpion, I've collected these Corgi models since they first came on the market and now have well over 100 of them! I have to point out that the Heinkel is a very heavy model and I'm not at all sure it is suitable for hanging from a pull cord!

Still, it's a super desktop model and you may just get away with hanging the F4U.
