I think the most disturbing and absurd thing I've seen to date is at the drive up automated tellers window at the bank. The buttons are in brail. LMAO....are they seriously expecting a blind person to drive up to the window! Even if the idea was for them to be driven to the bank. Odds are that the sighted driver would use the drive up window in as much as the windows are designed for access by the driver. ;D
I guess it's there because of federal laws about handicapped accessibility. The federal government is not well know for it's abundance of common sense. ::)
Also when I was with my wife at a doctors appointment. I noticed a restroom signs for his/hers restrooms....both signs were also in brail. I proceeded to ask the nurse, If they can't see the sign and don't know it's there, how can they read the brail? Or are they expected to grope the wall in search of the sign? Odds are they didn't drive themselves to the doctor and the sighted person with them would more than likely assist them to the restroom. She had no clear reasonable answer.
