Unbelievable!

Postby ozzy72 » Sun Aug 31, 2003 12:22 pm

Sometimes you read something and you wonder if someone has a guardian angel. This guys one deserves the evening off and a cold six-pack!

X-ray images have revealed the miraculous escape of a Californian man who fell onto a 46 centimetre long drill bit. Ron Hunt had been working on a ladder when it suddenly collapsed - and he fell face forwards onto the power tool below.
Surgeons in the US state literally unscrewed the 3.8 centimetre wide steel bit from his skull. Hunt lost an eye in the accident, but is otherwise unscathed. He suffered no brain damage and no paralysis.
The 41-year-old attributes his survival to his faith in God, and joked with reporters that the Almighty may have some odd jobs planned for him in the future.

Amazing isn't the word, incredible doesn't even cover it!

What I can't figure out is how someone lives through this, virtually unscathed, yet break 15 bones in their body when they just fall down. ???

Did anyone ever hear about the Husband and Husband that got in in tiff, where one shot the other between the eyes with a crossbow! :o In that case ALL of the damage was superficial. The bolt split the two hemispheres perfectly. True Story! :)

Now that is the THIRD case of such a head injury I have ever heard.

Case #1: An unknown suspect had attacked a man by driving a rambo-style knife through the top of the innocent man's skull. Doctors said that the knife was driven in such an angle that the knife literally missed the vital parts of his brain. They have successfully removed. This case was LOOOONNNGG ago. You should find it in the Guiness Book of Records.

Case #2: Just this year, a young man was randomly attacked by an unknown suspect in the same way as the 1st case. The 2 differences are:

a. The weapon was a long kitchen knife, not a rambo-style knife.

b. The knife was driven through the front side of his skull, not the top.

However, the unknown suspect seemed to be an idiot. The knife was driven in such an steep angle that it literally missed the entire brain. It runs from the top of his nose all the way through the roof of his mouth. This case occured in a very different country.

Case #3: The one that you posted.

How's all that for a miracle? :o

You know, it's incredible how these people manage to survive through such hell.

Blimey... :o...
I would have thought that the "two Husbands" would have fought it out with their handbags... ;).. ;)... ;)...!
...Nudge, nudge, wink, wink, say no more... ;)...!
Much less lethal... :o...!
LOL...LOL...LOL...!

Cheers...

There was a show recently about all kinds of wierd things people had been stuck with.  Everything from a 2X4, to a $150,000 necklace, to Forks and Spoons.  One guy had 200 nails removed from his stomach! ::)

 True story:
We have a friend who is an emergency room nurse at a rather large medical center, we don't see her very much but she was down for Thanksgiving one year and we asked her what was the weirdest thing she ever had to deal with, she said there was one guy who had a rather large potatoe stuck in his butt.
Still no linked images allowed around here Paz! Naughty...

I wonder if Ozzy's drill-head guy is any relation to the guy who brought the crippled 757 into KALB last week.  I'd think that luck like that must surely run in the family!
Great edit, Bob.
