Well let's see. These are the ones I used most frequently over the years.

FS Unknown mid 80s version (Mac LCIII Moterola 25mhz processor, before vid cards came out, my palm pilot has more computing power)
Tie Fighter (Moterola Starmax Mac clone, 200mhz)
Warbirds (PII 233mhz with no video card)
X-Wing (PII 233Mhz, no card)
CFS1 (PII 233mhz no video card)
XWing vs Tie Fighter (PII 233mhz, ATI Radeon PCI 32mb)
XWing Alliance (PII 233mhz, ATI Radeon PCI 32mb)
FS2002 (Duron 950, Geforce2 MX400)
CFS2 (Same system as FS2k2)
CFS3 (Duron 950, Geforce FX5200)
FS2004 (Duron 950, GF FX5200)

Oh i forgot my X-Wing and TIE which managed to wreck 3 joysticks before i got my first decent one

First Flight Sim I ever played was F-19 Stealth Fighter but I can't remember what machine it was for, Commador 64 or Amega. It belonged to a pal of mine and I remember flying a raid on Iraq one night only to get home and turn on the TV to see that Gulf War One had just started! I flew the first raid about an hour before the war started ;)

Since then I've had:
FS98
F-22 ADF
CFS2
Mig Ally
B-17
FS2K2
CFS3

Of that lot I still play CFS2 and FS2K2. All the rest have been removed now and cosigned to my collection of vintage flight sims in a dark draw in the spare room!

Here are the ones I remember, but I'm sure there were others:

Solo Flight (C64)
F-15 Strike Eagle (C64)
Jump Jet (PC)
FS2002
CFS3
FS2004

I still have "Jump Jet". As I'm sure you have guessed, it's a Harrier sim. Here are the system requirements:

IBM 286 (16+ MHz), 386, 486, and compatibles
1MB RAM, DOS 5.0, and a hard disk required
Supports VGA/MCGA only
Joystick and mouse required
Supports IBM, Ad Lib, Roland, and Sound Blaster

I had to jump through hoops to get the game to run... it required a special boot disk with it's own autoexec.bat and config.sys files... getting FS2004 to run was a breeze in comparison.  ;D

Ok. My FIRST flight sim was Solo Flight for the Commodore 64.

Forget all of that other crap I wrote.  I'm sorry to have wasted your time. ::)

FS2002!!  THIS IS IT!! I honestly could not,after doing some real flying,contemplate using a FS until I saw FS2002.
I was given a computer and FS by my brother and have upgraded from there. Nice having well to do brothers who like to look after their youngers. :)

Gunship. 1984, On the Sinclair Spectrum 48k*...FANTASTIC FUN... 8)...!
I still play it now using the Spectrum Emulator...

Boy. I still remember that we used to have an Atari. We had one game called Commanche. It was one of those that the scenery went by while you shoot. Then about 4 or 5 years ago, we sold the system and the games for 3 bucks. Now, we problibly could sell it for $300.  :-/

Ahh fond memories of this "beauty"  :-/

This was one of the ZX81's finest hours. The game was set at night in order to solve the "not many graphics" problem. You had the choice of making just the final approach to the airport, or of starting some miles away. There were also mountains and crosswinds to contend with, and you had a goodly number of instruments to keep under control. A "Not bad... a bit bumpy" report at the end was quite an achievement for me!

Ahh those days of 1k RAM with an optional 16k "RAM Pack" ::)

that page hasn't been updated for ages...

And remember, to fly you need a 286 (proven by Airbus), anything with more power will give eyecandy.
