Cool eBay Purchase...

Postby Wing Nut » Tue Jul 29, 2003 12:37 pm

Assuming I have this one posted in the right place... :)

I just purchased 200 outdated charts and approach plates for $6.00 on eBay.

The link doesn't work, but that's probably saving your life, as if you'd actually SHOWED me your purchase, I'd be even more jealous.  lol

I've been browsing for some cockpit parts on eBay, just in case I should later decide to go ahead and build a pit....

Still gotta get my real world flight instruction over with first though.  lol

Good job Dread!
Great edit, Bob.

My brother has the manual pump for a spitfire's landing gear at home.....

If we all get together maybe we could all buy a bit of a spitfire and put it together.........

We'd need a lawyer to work out how much each of us owns and  how often we'd get to fly it.  Where would it live.  *Brain explodes*

As a charter operator, we throw away, literally, stacks, of old charts and plates. Try your local airport. Either way, Ebay or airport you can't go wrong. You'll probably spend that same six bucks in gas, driving to, and around, the airport. 8)

Do you think if I got ahold of some of the charter ops in the area, they would give me or sell me their old ones?

All charter operators will have excess charts. They are required to stamp them with a big red Expired stamp, therein lies the problem. Some operators don't want to deal with the liability aspect. Most, though, should have the charts and give them up willingly.  8)
