What's the music like In HBO's tv series, 'Band of Brothers'?

i'm just curious

I saw the whole series, it finished only a couple of weeks ago.
I am a musician myself or was B.C. (before cripple.......lol)
and as such, a good or reasonable musical score would always make an impression.
I don't recall a single note.............lol  ;D ;)

That last post gave me an idea for a little tangent we may be able to go off on.

War Film themes or songs.

I have many favourites that I couldn't choose between:

The Dambusters March (not written by the bloke who wrote the score for the movie)

March from The Great Escape

Theme from The Longest Day

The Panzer Anthem from Battle of the Bulge

I always liked the theme music from the 60's TV series "Combat"

(I think I've just taken all the good ones.............lol)
Also the problem here is, if someone doesn't know it, you can't hum over the internet.......lol.

Comments?  ;D ;)

I was just curious because my sister ( who incidentally thinks she knows everything ::) :-/) said that the music in the 'Band of Brother' series was like a techno\rap style

I think she must be thinking of something else, as this is set in WWII and everything is meant to be period.
As for my favourite, well..... I love the theme tune to the film Whoops Apocalypse. This is a little know comedy, and has the ever insane Rik Mayelle as a captain in the SAS leading a siege on Madame Tussards.....Brilliant.

Some may think it corny by today's standards, but I like the score in Bridge on the River Kwai, with the whistling "Colonel Bogey's March."  It got one of the seven Oscars the movie pulled in.

Come to think of it, I was only 15 when the movie came around.  I played a trumpet at the time and my favorite composer was John Philip Sousa--you know, all the US Marines' marches, etc. :D

Hi all, long time no see.  ;)

Has the film "PT 109" been mentioned anywhere in this topic? I havn't seen it for ages and was curious as to whether it has been mentioned?  ;D ;)

P.S. Who played JFK?

Welcome back Brensec. I knew exactly what "crook" meant before you explained it. I've never been anwhere near Oz but the word was commonly used in my youth.

Thanks for the Well Wishes, people.
And thanks for the answer to my ?   ;)

I don't recall it being too memorable a movie. I think it probably only got to the screeen because of the subject of the film.
I've always found it amazing that a coconut with their location carved on it was thrown into the sea, found, taken to someone who gave a crap, taken to someone who took it seriously and then a rescue was mounted.
The odds are astronomical. It's your classic message in a bottle.  ;D ;D ;) or is it all a CIA/FBI/NSA plot to show JFK up as a great hero rather than an adulterous, womanising trollop..................whoops!  ;D ;D ;D

P.S. Did a Japanese Destroyer Captain ever admit to the accidental collision? If so, how did they work out who it was. I mean ship positions durng the height of the war, I'm sure, can only be estimated, if known at all.  ;D ;)

"The Enemy Below" with Robert Mitchum and Kurt Jurgens, is on in about 10 mins.
So I have just enough time to grab a fresh cup of coffee and a sandwich and sit down and enjoy. Ahhhhhhh!  ;D ;)

I only put this in to breath some life into this topic...............lol  ;D ;)

I'll let you know if the movie has changed any.
In fact I will enjoy it, as I haven't seen it for many years.
Ta Ta!  ;D
