Thanks for the kind words Rifleman. Glad to know I inspire at least one person around here. LOL

I must admit to checking the correct spelling of toothcomb, especially for posting in this thread. It's a common enough expression in my part of the world but I wasn't sure. It didn't show up in Dictionary.com so I went back to good ol' Google.

As for harsh language, I'm a hypocrite. I don't tollerate it from my students, I don't like it when somebody is using it in front of a lady, but when I'm working on something or irritated, boy can I use the F-word e.g. fudge, flip, fruitbat etc.
I did recently do a whole lecture on this word at uni., and it proved to be a really interesting lesson (according to my students), and quite a lot of fun. It is  just such a versatile word.
But I won't tolerate naughty stuff here, so be warned!

My all-time favourite button is the "Modify" button.... ...!
It's, (it is), one of the best features of a Forum of this type....
I spend ages going over my posts to see if I need to correct anything, so that I don't, (do not), publish anything really silly... ::)....!
My biggest problem is that my built-in dictionary, (Spell Write), doesn't, (does not), always find my spelling error... ....!
I just wish it was possible to re-call my E-Mails containing all the gibberish which I have sent and have no means of correcting.... ....!
LOL...LOL...LOL...(I love typing that, it means I'm, (I am), having fun, and everyone knows that I'm, (I am), foolin', (fooling))... ...!

I know what you mean. I've sent of countless e-mails without getting a chance to correct major errors that were noticed after being sent. I've even accidentally sent somewhat offensive e-mail to the wrong person once! I was using Outlook and it thought it was so smart that it guessed the e-mail

Simviation has actually given me a complete 360 and sent me off on my way after a final 180 as far as cussing was concerned!  Last year, I had a Scottish friend who said a lot of girls found me attractive but were put off by my excessive swearing.  My school speech and my Simviation speaking style are almost identical now,

My grammar, punctuation and spelling are always terrible.  I am better now that I can use a keyboard but my brain moves at about 500mph and my fingers at about 5mph.  I am always rushing trying to get to the point of what I wish to say and often I lose the thread completely.  I would like to take this opportunity to apologise to my international buddies who for some strange reason don't always see the funny side to my jokes.

I would also like to thank you guys.  This is beyond doubt the politest and most helpful (is politest a word?) forum I have ever seen.

I despair when I read some post's as I haven't a clue what the person means.  I have taken to not responding if I only think I understand due to a recent disagreement with a member of a collective.....

Hey Will, Since this thread is about punctuation & grammer, I will have to tell you that "politest" is not a word.....as far as I know without checking the dictionary.

It should read, "This is beyond a doubt, the most polite and helpful forum I have ever seen."

Dave you are quite correct. Politest is not a real word according to the OED. Odd as so many people use it, I guess it will get taken on-board in due course like so many other words......

I think i've said crap a few times before in this forum but i can stop the same way i started, all you gotta do is say it......

My main problem with grammar is my brain and fingers....

My brain goes faster and then my fingers, so sometimes i might end end up typing:

somehting, wihch, etc, etc.

Other than the crap word or damn ( excuse me for using it now, but i need it for this post) i hardly, i ever say F**K and i do agree that forums like these teach you new words and a beter language. Like when you have a friend that says: That is the bomb!
I might not say the bomb but if i keep hanging out with him i am going to pick up that word as well. So, thos forum is like that friend, you pick up stuff as you go.

Oh, and i might use shortcut words like gonna, donno, gotta, etc. I know the correct word, Going to, Don't know, Got to (which is not correct. If i am not mistaken "I have to" is the correct way)
