Flying the TU-154

Now that I'm starting to get into Russian planes, and the recent download of Project Tupolev's TU-154 (thanks, SimV, for saving me a lot of trouble with your version), I now need to... well... I need to learn to fly all over again.

Any pointers (specifically, panel pointers) will be accepted.

Just a little off topic but I just recently downloaded the TU-114!

Maybe we can both get some screenshots and have like Russian Plane week or something like that!

You know, that's not at all a bad idea. But first thing's first though. What good is a plane if you can't get it off the ground, let alone *cough*start the engines*cough*

So, let's see... TU-114, 124, 144, and 154 should do it for Russian passenger travel for now, and those will go nicely with my Antonovs (124 and 225). Afterward, I can go hunting for Ilyushins.

Isn't there a manual with the kite? I seem to recall that most of the Russian planes available come with a small English language PDF file full of instructions

For starting
First thing you need to find is the clickspot for the FE panel, lower left on there are the fuel valves and the APU, start that one first (due to panel bugs)
Middle is engine parameters... loads of red lights untill you get them running. Every EGT gauge has a separate power switch
Big one on Right is the fuel switcher. you should have at least the 4 caged ones in up and the set above them before you attempt any starting

I saw your shots of the TU-114, what about the TU-154 or can't you get it working yet?

I've got a decent know-how with the panel now, but what I really need is the manual, and I have no idea where to find it other then the official site, where they copy they have refuses to work on my computer.

If anyone knows where I can get a copy of the manual, it would be much appreciated.

UPDATE: OK, I think I just about have it. Now I just need to wait for the PT-154 58 mb file to download. People have been saying that it installs a manual with it. Hopefully the TU-154B and TU-154M have the same panel.

If you have the 9.6.x from www.protu-154.com you have it installed already... just try shift-1 to shift-9. The radar screen that pops up is the Groza but it only works with 3D clouds activated (it reads the cloud polygons)
