I just soloed today.  Just my luck that the traffic pattern exploded with traffic after my instructor closed the door and walked away.  I had to go around 3 times because of 2 citations, 2 182's, a diamond (cut me off twice), and a bellanca scout.  It was crazy and unfortunate that I didn't have alot of time to enjoy it because of all the traffic.

Congrats man!

The first time I soloed the pattern was empty-the second time I soloed I nearly had an emergency on my hands when I rolled out on final on top of another aircraft (they called final on the CTAF, I looked ahead of me, didn't see them)

Good luck with the rest of your training ;)

Nervous?  I had no time for nervous.  I was too focused with the task at hand.

I had plenty of time to be nervous, but I wasn't... I mean literally I had almost no anxiety about doing it at all.  It seems we're the only two people on the planet (that I know of) ;)

I was confused briefly (pattern changed direction while I was on downwind), and very wary throughout, but not anxious. I'd just done a few circuits with the instructor, so it was not a nail-biter.

Yeah, when it actually happended, I wasn't nervous at all, my instructor hopped out after a few circuits and luckily for me, the pattern was empty so I got free reign of the airport while I tried to bring the airplane back in one piece. ;D ;)

I'd just done a few circuits with the instructor, so it was not a nail-biter.

That's the way it was for me-I'm a very logical, analytical thinker, and in my mind it was like "I've done this a million times, a monkey could fly the pattern, (only a pilot can make decisions) so what's there to worry about?  Not even anyone in the air!"

I suppose what I meant was not even anxiety but like no knee-knocking, no suddenly noticing the instructor wasn't there, no special feeling, (didn't get that until first solo x-country) it was just like flying with Matti there except he stopped asking me if I had called base and the plane flew like a fighter jet ;D
