SkySpirit conversion

Postby Russell Irwin » Thu Jan 24, 2013 10:18 pm

I want to be able to convert POSKY's 763v4 packages so that they will work on SkySpirit's v5 models, but I've had no luck so far. Are they fundamentally incompatible, or do the packages just require extensive tweaking, and if so, what do I need to do?
Constructive criticism appreciated.

As far as I know V5 is different enough that it is compatible with most older versions of liveries due to some remapping. You might be able to get it to work though, I've never tried.

Most, if not all, of the posky fs2004 763 models have been updated to FSX native models.

They are available here (and if the site ever goes down we have them archived)

Is this what you mean? The textures will work fine provided you use the 'x' version of the model:

So, for example

The textures that I download usually have at least two models: wingview and no wingview. The titles of these models are vague, whereas the v5 models have suffixes like AL and BL. So I have the proper models (I think). But the textures won't show up. I've renamed the textures, e.g. os763v4_fuse_t to os763v5_fuse_t. But nothing works. I've noticed that the v5 version has more textures, so maybe it's a version of texture mapping. I just want a way to convert files in under 30 minutes, but I don't want to have to give up and download 60mb from SimV.
