Hi, wondering if anyone can recommend a good version of the F-16 Viper by Kirk Olsen for FSX ( or an updated one for that matter), as some do not install with afterburner effect and there are various other anomilies..

I have tried

Hi

It's quite easy to add little things like effects.

Without knowing what you've tried and what it is you want in one -- here is one I would suggest

Thanks Pete,
Have now tried this one also, but still not working out of the box as mentioned in the file description. No afterburner and no exterior lights/beacons
showing.
It must need more than just placing the unzip file into the simobjects/airplanes folder, as even I know that usualy you are asked to place effects and gauges into their respective folders within the main FSX folder.

Also notice a problem with th fuselage graphics. ( see red circle)

I appreciate your help, but will do a little more of the trial and error stuff for the time being as this is usually how we find most things out, and boy have I done my share of that over the last decade or so.

Thanks for trying anyway Pete.

You could take a look at this
http://simviation.com/1/search?submit=1 ... sage=saved
You'll get some old gauges, but try to close them.
(I got one i need to close every time i launch the ac)

Otherwise you will need this

Thanks man,

I take it that the screenies are of the Aerosoft model, real nice.
I trawled all over the web the other day intent on buying the IRIS F-16 only to find out that they had withdrawn it

Ya, with the F16s the options out there for models is not that extensive. I will give those aircraft a shot as well, as I am looking for an alternative to the Aerosoft one, as you cant fly six of them in a delta without a lot of lag. :'(
