Can you be more specific, what operating system are you using? XP or vista/windows 7? Basically, you should calibrate your joy stick with your operating system, to make sure it's recognize by the system, if not then you might not have the correct or updated drivers for that joystick, which would also cause FSX to not remember your settings.

I feel your pain!.... ;)...!

Every time I fire up my Sim using my Saitek Cyborg Evo Force joystick, I have to make sure that I cycle the stick through all its travel, in every direction, including the throttle, to centralise the controls, otherwise the aircraft takes on a will of its own!.. ;D..!

Once done, it remains set for the remainder of the Flight Sim session.

None of the settings ever get saved in the Sim for next time!

I just get used to doing it every time!... ;)...!

Paul...with an unruly stick of joy!... ;D...!

Well I used Window XP. I think I have to configure my joystick with its own software. For instance if I clic 9 buton the game anderstand G from the keybord and the gear goes down... then I put the stick off from FSX and let it think I use the keyboard. Is this right ? :-?

So here is what I find :
I must close my saitek CyborgX in windows, before lauching FSX. Then it's OK to configure the stick in the game panel. And it stays in memory.
Fozzer, I think I meet your problem (80%) : when I start the game, the plane start to run the track and turn on the right. I'll try your soluce...
Duke.

From what I can recall...
My present Saitek Cyborg Evo Force is the only stick that I have had this "problem" with...
My previous Logitec, Microsoft, etc, joysticks always seemed to be automatically centred after loading the Sim, (....the throttle always had to be set to minimum position first).
The Saitek Cyborg Evo ALWAYS requires rotating through its complete travel a number of times, including the rudder, and the same with the throttle, BEFORE taking off!
The settings never get saved to the Sim.

I have to remember to do it before moving, or else the plane is all over the place, accelerating blindly onto the grass!!

Paul... 8-)...!

I have the Saitek Aviator AV8R usb and it works beautifully in FSX, no need to download drivers just plug it in and Microsoft has a driver for it.  Although I am using Window 7, not XP.  This joystick came after the Cyborg and cost about the same but I don't know if you can still find it.

Try setting up everything and properly shut down FSX.  If there is still an issue, I recommend checking out your FSX.cfg.
