Resolution problem?

Postby Zaphod » Tue Oct 16, 2012 2:14 pm

Hi Guys and Gals.
Whenever I restore my computer from "sleep" mode ( I have it set for 60 mins in W7) I lose the 1920*1080 option in FSX (and also in FS9) and therefore I can't load a flight as the sim stalls at the flight loading screen.
I'm not sure if it's related but I have also lost the preety Windows 7 loading animation and now have a simple "loading bar" instead.

Any ideas appreciated.

Ta.

One reason that you may not get an answer is simply because no one that has read this has any idea what could be wrong

It can take time, sometimes a fair bit of time for the active members to get to read this.

All you can do is wait.

But sometimes you never get a reply ;)

I find that one also has to include a big bag of Chocolate Cookies next to the query, to attract replies.

Paul.... ;)...!

I have a delicious bag of Chocolate Cookies lying next to my query in the "Scenery and Panel Design" Forum, waiting for a reply... ;)...!

I tried setting Man Traps, but the responder generally died of his injuries before he could reach the computer for a reply!

One thing I can think of is that your graphics card doesn't 'wake up' as it should. Don't ask for a solution. I don't have anything other than not putting your computer to sleepmode...

Holy vanishing posts!!!
Hi Fozz..
I did see your original post but I saw it on my android phone which made it a pain to reply and by the time I got the ol' PC powered up it had vanished!

Zaph... ;)

PS.
Not sure where all this Batman nonsense has come from. No more I promise.

Thanks for that Carlo. I've sort of come to the same conclusion.
I'd love to know whats happened to the Windows 7 start up animation though.

Holy-smoly, Batman!... :o...
Something has modified your Windows 7 Preferences!

One of the things I notice is that if you (accidentally) modify Windows 7, it takes ages to find the particular Folder and program to sort the problem out, and modify/correct it.
Windows 7 "preferences" are far too complicated, and hidden way in confusing Folders!.
It was always very easy-peasy with Windows XP...(Control Panel).

Paul.... ;)....!

P.S...what is this strange; "Android" thing, you are fiddlin' with?... ;)...!

I'm sure Carlo is right. I would never use that option. Tried it for many years ago and strange things happened every time it woked.
I have a screen saver on, but always close the pc when not in use.

I never understood that function anyhow. It's like putting your tv on standby. It seems of, except it's still on.

Re: Resolution problem?

Postby Russell Irwin » Mon Oct 22, 2012 8:04 pm

Hi, I recently installed FSX acceleration on my Dell laptop running windows 7. Is there any way that I could run fsx (actually keep flying, not just pause) while, say, browsing on another window? This comes in handy while doing homework.
Constructive criticism appreciated.
