Plane help

Postby fsxfan1234 » Mon Oct 08, 2012 4:02 am

Hi guys,
I really need some help. A few days ago, I was happily flying my MD 11 when I wanted to have a look at the other aircraft in the area. I found plane that I didn't know I had. I wanted to fly it, so I went into the aircraft menu on the main menu, and it wasn't there. So I had a look in the program file for fsx. I found the folder for the aircraft, but it never came up in the aircraft menu. So does anyone know how to fix this problem?
Thanks,
fsxfan1234

Without knowing which aircraft you mean I suspect that this was an AI Only aircraft. That is one that is intended purely to use as AI Traffic.

AI aircraft can usually be added to the FSX aircraft selection menu by giving them a panel but they are pretty basic without the bells & whistles of proper flyable aircraft. If you really want to fly it there are usually far better quality 3rd party examples posted on the major FS websites like Simviation.

Did the aircraft folder have model, panel, sound and texture sub-folders?

These are the names of the sub-folders that were in the file:

model, soundai, texture, texture.1 and texture.2

As said above it is an AI aircraft.

Just download another one - & most of the ai aircraft have been made flyable for FSX - just look here in the the download section.

Meanwhile if an aircraft is difficult to find in your dropdown list look in the aircraft.cfg file (open in notepad).

Under [fltsim.*] you will find these entries:

[size=12]
ui_manufacturer=Airbus

Working Flight Management Computer*."FMC" Bendix King/Honeywell General Aviation FMC/GPS by Garrett Smith Full animations including exit doors. FSX terminal gate compatibility.
