[quote]Understand the Gold version is 64 bit and plan to replace the delux with it.

The gold version is not a 64bit!
As Hager says, it is deluxe containing an addon acceleration pack.
Not sure about your memory, but i think it'll take a little bit more.

Thanks for your kind replies, I must have misread a thread here that mentioned Gold being 64bit.

I suspect the confusion arises from the Microsoft official website. Both FSX Gold & Acceleration are listed as fully 64-bit compatible on the Windows 7 Compatibility Centre. http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-gb/Browse.aspx?type=Software&category=PC%20Gaming&subcategory=Simulation%20%26%20Driving

FSX Deluxe & Standard are not listed. I suspect that installing Acceleration makes them 64-bit compatible.
[glow=yellow,2,300]Correction. FSX is listed.[/glow] http://www.microsoft.com/windows/compatibility/windows-7/en-gb/Browse.aspx?type=Software&category=PC%20Gaming&subcategory=Simulation%20%26%20Driving&page=3

Oh well, I have already paid for the Gold version so I will go ahead and use it when it arrives.

No harm done. I expect FSX Gold is as cheap or cheaper than purchasing Acceleration separately.

Heh, I would not have purchased the Acceleration pack by itself
