Hi,

Looking for help loading the KBT WP-3D Orion onto FSX running windows Vista as the OS. i extract the file and run the .EXE and receive the following message.

Lockheed WP-3D is not avialable under the OS which you are using. Please use different version that is avialable under your system or contact the distributor about the operating environments. The instalation will now terminate

I am new to this. Any help would be appreciated!

Try extracting the exe file to a temp folder.

I guess something on your system is preventing the exe from running.

Try turning off firewall and all security. Extract the file. If it works, reboot and all your security will be up and running again.

I've got that aircraft also, but , I've got Windows 7, OS, with Flight Simulator FSX Gold edition with SP2. it does work properly in my Sim tho, but, my OP is different since its Windows 7. I had downloaded the file to a temporary place, ( a special folder within my Pictures section of windows), then, I manually install each and every single folder where it needs to go, but, NOT before digging into each folder and checking to make sure everything is right and also deleting some un-necessary files that aren't needed, such as Diz File, extra photo, Jpg files, read me files, then I manually "Inject" aircraft into my FSX Sim, and rarely do I encounter any problems.  Kinda like inspecting engine autoparts or Aircraft parts before installing them into your sim, check everything beforehand, you'll end up with a lot less problems and headaches. took me quite about of time to learn this, and studying the file & folder format of FSX, as well as the Aircraft & Panel CFG files to be able to make tweaks to most of my Aircraft & Panels if need or as I choose. I can now make almost any worth while aircraft appear and work in my FSX Sim, almost anyway,,, theres a few lurking out there, that will never work and are meant for older simulators, like 2002, and a few of early 2004's, which the modeling & textures are not that great compared to todays FSX and our computer operating systems we use now days are far much better than 10, 15 years ago !
