Airborne boats

Postby Flying Trucker » Mon May 14, 2012 9:01 am

Good morning all... :)

Just notice this:

FSX Default Flight from Friday Harbour

The Marina with the two red Float aircraft right next to the Ferry Dock are perfect.

However the Marina on the other side of the Ferry Dock the boats are all elevated...never noticed this before.

Please tell me there is a fix for this or do I have to clear this computer of anything FSX and start over.

REX is not on so that is not the problem I don't think.
Cheers...Happy Landings...Doug

Doug...........Look something like this?

In my FSX I have the addons UTX-USA and FTX-PNW which include the Friday Harbour area. I believe you have them also.

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

FTX Central should look like this when you open it. You can use the windows controls in the upper right corner, like any other window, to go to full screen but this won't increase the text size for reading.
Image
Not sure what you mean by 'FTX Central at the bottom of the screen'. Are you referring to a 'shortcut' on the desktop? In any case, FSX must be shut down before running FTX Central.

I see you do not have UTX USA as I thought. Your UTX Canada should not be involved with the 'marina' problem at Friday Harbour. But I still suspect a terrain or mesh conflict is causing the problem. Do you have any other terrain or mesh addons installed that include this area? (These could include terrain or mesh addons or scenery addons that have their own terrain or mesh components.) If so, try temporarily disabling the addons in the Scenery Libray and see if that fixes the problem.

If you could post a screenshot from the same perspective as mine it might help.

I don't think the 'marina' problem has anything to do with the other problems your having.
When closing out I got....

Microsoft NetFlix Error...
Just in time...JIT...Debugging Error.... Again....

I'm guessing you meant a 'Microsoft .net' error. Many programs, including REX, require the 'Microsoft .net framework'. I can't give any advice on this except to use Windows Update the ensure you have the latest updates for .net.

Don't have a clue about the Logbook problem, I never use it.

Dave

After thought: Open the......\\ORBX\User Documents\Versions\FTX_NA_PNW.txt file. If the version listed is less than ... V1.0 PATCH 005... you can download the patch here-http://fullterrain.com/support.html. Don't know that it will fix this problem, but provides many fixes and enhancements to the original release.

Good afternoon Dave and All... :)

Well Dave just before I comment there is something I would like to say about young folks... :)

As our children and grandchildren are quite far away our neighbours grandson (12 years old) heard about my problem with not getting FTX Central to come up large on my screen.

I was complaining about FSX....Windows 7 the other night at cards so our neighbour asked his grandson when they were here for Mothers Day.

The lad showed up to-day as he had early lunch.

I have to learn when I move a screen from my main monitor to my second monitor to bring it back prior to closing.... ::)

Well you all know I would have figured it out in a year or so... ;D

This is surely a simple scenery glitch, I think.
These floating boats are in fact a single object, one big 3D model that shows several boats as well as the harbor structures. If this object placement is incorrect, then the whole harbor and all the boats will look incorrect, because it's just one plain object.

What are your current scenery display settings Doug ? (in the game options, for the mesh complexity and the mesh resolution)

Hi Doug,

Don't worry about the answer details. This is a forum, not a chat  ;D (also, you know I'm pretty often late to answer too ;) )

1 meter for the mesh resolution is a bit high, you're simply increasing the load times.
Keep it at 5 meters minimum, that will be just fine for the OrbX sceneries.
However, I don't think this will solve the issue.

By the way, speaking of PNW, have you installed the PNW SP5 patch already ?

Hi Stephane... :)

No...did not know there was a patch.

I just bought this so thought it would be up to date but will do a search and an installation.

Will change my Mesh Resolution to "5".

It is a Long Holiday Weekend here "May 24th Victoria Day" and we are off to the Flying Club as soon as the ladies come home from church.

Lots of flying going on this weekend... ;)

Doug, maybe you missed my 'After thought' edit earlier:

(You can also check the version in FTX Central under Tools>Reports>FTX Products Installed.)
