You obviously understand the basic principle of all this so there's no need for a full tutorial.

Installing the 757 should be straightforward enough. After extracting POSKY-757-200_Winglets_ver.1.1.zip to your MYPLANES folder, open the folder named POSKY-757-200_Winglets_ver.1.1. This is what it looks like.

Paste the folder named OSX_B757-200_Winglets into your FSX\SimObjects\Airplanes folder.

Open the folder named Copy to EFFECTS. Select all the files inside it & paste them into your FSX\Effects folder.

In the same way paste the contents of the Copy to MAIN GAUGES & Copy to MAIN SOUND as is folders into their respective folders in your main FSX directory. I strongly recommend you Don't overwrite files/folders if prompted.

That's all there is to it. The 757 should be listed under Project Opensky on the FSX selection menu.

HAGAR- SUCCESS, SORT OF....DID EVERYTHING JUST LIKE YOU SAID. NOW HAVE 3 NICE 757 PLANES ON FSX ONLY A COUPLE OF PROBLEMS, LIGHTS ON PLANES ARENT WORKING RIGHT. THEY SHOW UP AS COLORED SQUARES. THEY ALL WORK BUT, AND THERE ISNT ANY ENGINE SOUND. HAVE SOUND FOR FLAPS LOWERING AND RAISEING HAVE CALL OUTS FOR HEIGHT BUT NO ENGINES. I KNOW THE 757 IS QUITE BUT NOT THAT QUITE.... WHERE DID I SCREW UP? LOOKED IN THE SOUND FOLDER AND SOUND AS IS FILES WHERE IN THERE. RAMPRAT

For the nav lights make sure you pasted all 19 files from the Copy to EFFECTS folder to FSX\Effects. Posky aircraft are usually very graphics intensive. Perhaps that's why your lights are not displaying properly.

I can't think why you have no sound. The 757 includes a full sound package. Look in the Sound folder of your 757. If you installed it correctly it should contain over 70 WAV files.

HAGAR-I JUST HAD MY SON UPGRADE MY DELL 4700 TO THE FOLLOWING SPECS: 3.2 CPU PENTIUM 4( FACTORY ) ADDED 2GB OF RAM FOR TTL OF 2.5GB A NEW ATI RADEON HD6450 2GB GRAPHICS CARD 5.1 SOUND CARD AND FACTORY 160 HDD. WOW!!!!!!! NO MORE LAGS. THE SOUND DID COME IN AND THE LIGHTS ARE BETTER BUT IF YOU LOOK AT THE PLANE FROM STRAIGHT ON THE LIGHTS ARE FINE( ITS THE STROBES ON THE END OF THE WINGS ) BUT IT YOU VIEW FROM SAY 30 DEGREES TO 90 DEGREES YOU GET THE FLASHING WHITE SQUARES. I CAN LIVE WITH IT UNLESS YOU CAN THINK OF A SOLUTION.....

Hi RAMPRAT. Glad the update worked out. For the lights problem you could try reducing the scenery complexity from FSX Settings. You might not want to do that. If you're happy I would leave well alone.

HAGAR-JUST FOR KICKS I MAXED OUT THE SETTINGS AFTER WE UPGRADED. ALL SLIDERS TO THE RIGHT. WORKED GREAT FOR ABOUT 45 MINUTES THEN FROZE UP. WAS FLYINF 747-400. JUST WANTED TO SEE IF IT COULD HANDLE IT. BACKED OFF ONE CLICK ON THE SCENERY SETTINGS AND NOW WILL RUN ALL DAY WITH NO PROBLEMS. SOME VERY SLIGHT HESITATION AS YOU MAKE YOUR APPROCH, GUESS ITS BECAUSE ITS TRYING TO DRAW EVERYTHING BACK IN AGAIN BUT DOESNT LEAVE YOU HANGING LIKE BEFORE. DID HELP LIGHTS SOMEWHAT BUT STILL HAVE SMALL WHITE SQUARES NOW ON 757. AM GOING TO LOOK FOR A BIGGER PSU NOW.

Interesting. Did you try reducing those settings a bit more? I'm not qualified to offer advice on hardware but I think you would need a very powerful computer to run FSX with the display settings maxed out.

HAGAR, LEFT THE SCENERY SETTINGS ALONE. MY WATER SETTING IS HIGH 1X NICE EFFECTS WAVES COME ON SHORE NO FISH JUMPING OUT OF THE WATER AND NO BIRDS BUT GOOD ENOUGH. YES YOU WOULD NEED HIGH END DIGITAL STORM OR STEALTH MACHINE TO REALLY GET FULL EFFECT. I AM LOOKING AT DIGITAL STORM MARUADER LEVEL 4 FOR 1299.00. FITS MY BUDGET. PLUS I HAVE MONEY TO GET NICE 23-24 INCH HD LED MONITOR. HAVE AIRLINERS AT 60%, PRIVATE AIRCRAFT AT 30% AND AIRPORT VEHICELS AT 100% CARS 55% SHIPS AT 40% AND PLEASURE BOATS AT 40% WEATHER IS MAXED OUT.
