Over the past few years, I have come across many a topics of people complaining about freeware files. The latest one, being a designer so insulted that he refuses to share hes hard work to anyone anymore. Just because a few people think they are "owed" a perfectly functioning plane, without having to tweak this or that. Even though 99% of the time, it is the users fault, because they installed it incorrectly.

People have got to realize that freeware designers spend many of hours, weeks, months, and even years into developing an aircraft. Then for somebody to complain about it. Its worse then being slapped in the face IMHO.

I have never designed any aircraft, but have made some very simple textures, and even they took a good day to perfect.

I wish more people went by the philosophy of "if you don't have anything good to say, then don't bother saying anything" because negativity never helps anyone. (or anything)

Not that I think this rant will solve anything, but it just erks me that a few a**holes can screw up somthing so good for everyone else that respects such work. Because without people dedicating months of unpaid work, flight simulation wouldn't be a fraction of what it is today.

I hope that designers don't get too bummed out when others have high expectations on their *free* work, because it really is a shame that anyone could have thoughts like that.

So for all the designers out there, both freeware, and payware, THANK YOU VERY MUCH for the hard work that you have put in. I can't speak for others, but you have given me an experience that I could have only have dreamed of having. But because of your hard work, it is a reality. So again, Thank you!

Keep up the great work!

Michael B.

To Be FREEWARE Designer has its disadvantage of all types ........................
............. How about if I made them, PAYWARE ,I would be more protected ,that's why the owner of FSplanet told me
If its a freeware you don't have any rights when can take your airplanes and do as we want to do with them

your fustration is understandable. However I do belief that whether its pay or freeware, your rights are unaffected so the above statement is not correct. Copyright generally does not rely on payment or costs but is assumed to be granted automativcally to the creator at the moment of creation. A very clear statement in the readme installation instructions and the posting notes should make this clear. Enforcing this however is a different issue and will be difficult with both pay and freeware as the potential cost of any action will always outweigh the benefits. maybe it would be a good thing if simviation published a list of sites which have demonstrably placed pirated designs. then at least the names wil be out there.

I mean , payware is more in a legal way protected ,One thing its to take Kirk Olson f-16 or Posky 777 and re upload it as John Doe new f-16,and 777 maybe no one will even notice and no one will care..its a freeware ....its something like (If I didn't paid for it ,its something that have no importance)

Is like people think If they paid for it ,its more special ..

Ditto!   Thank you guys. You are great and I'm sure there will be a special place in heaven to people (like you) that devote their time to create things to make the joy of others (like me). Keep up the good work!

I just recieved the worst comment ever... and it wasn't really against me.
Someone posted this on my SF-37A Aurora video:
"FSX freeware, ,who the fuck cares! get a job and buy real payware aircraft fro fsx! "

What is going on with people? I mean, it's like before everyone supported freeware, even if they thought that it was really bad (like my early models) and now I only see this type of hate torwards freeware developers!

I look at it this way.....Those that can, do. While those that can't, insult.

And those types have their pictures prominently displayed as an illustration for LOSER in the dictionary.

Of course not all of their pics are there simply due to the fact that they have never ventured out of their parent's basements long enough to even aspire to amount to more than a skidmark on the underwear of life.

Y'all keep up the awesomely good work!   PLEASE!!!
