I know it may seen strange to some.....

..but in my version of Windows 7 Home Edition, all my flight sims, etc, are automatically installed into C/Program Files/Microsoft Games/FS2002, FS2004, FSX, etc, with no problems at all.
As Administrator I don't suffer any conflicts, strange requests, etc, at any time, (similar to my previous Win XP pro OS).
All my FS downloads fit nicely into their respective FS Folders, and only the FS .cfg files are stored in the root directory of my C Drive.
So, there you go...its "Program Files" default location for me...and it works!... :)...!

Paul...C Drive...Win 7....FS 2004 + FSX... [smiley=thumbsup.gif]...!

..actually...

..the reason I like installing programs to "Program Files", is that if the program does not come with its own "uninstaller" program, it can safely be uninstalled via the Windows Control Panel* where "Delete" would be a bad thing to do to get rid of the program!
(The same thing also applied to Win XP).
All my programs are in one Folder, easy to trace alphabetically, and easy to uninstall safely.... :)...!
(Note that the Flight Sims come with their own built-in uninstaller on the Installation CD/DVD).

Paul.... :)....!

* Start > Control Panel > Programs and Features > [Program]...Right Click > Uninstall.

P.S. If you only have one Hard Drive, you have no other choice but to install Windows and all other programs on the same Hard Drive.

I've got fsx on windows 7 installed in
C:\Program Files (x86)\Microsoft Games\Microsoft Flight Simulator X & I don't have any problems. If you do install it there the only thing I would recommend doing is changing the folder from read only so it won't always ask for administrator permission when you try to add aircraft.
