Two Problems - Would Really Appreciate Some Assistance!

Postby TopCat747 » Tue Dec 27, 2011 5:41 pm

First problem: [color=#ff0000]I just bought some great scenery for Liverpool Airport but there's a problem: All the planes are static and are not moving. What could I buy (which is safe) so there's real airlines, like RyanAir and easyJet, taking off and landing?

I seem to be the only plane doing this!

try turning off UAC and although i don't have a problem with were my fsx is installed, many do and recommend not installing in program files (x86)

Update the win7 as much as poss.
May the Mynd be with you.
So far my number of landings either passenger or pilot equal my number of takeoffs.

For the first problem, unless the scenery addon specifically says it has AI traffic, the aircraft that came with it are most likely static scenery.  For actual AI traffic (other than default), you need an AI addon.

As to the second problem, I have no idea.

My FSX is installed in Program Files x86. Do you think I should move it to Program Files?

Also, I have turned off UAC, still no luck.

Thanks for answering though mate

Your getting messages saying access is denied, seems typical win7 foul up, I did on my first installation of fsx install to default location as you have done but I also took up ownership of all directories.

uninstall and reinstall outside of program files (86)
Don't install in program files - ever - with anything for fsx.
Whenever your updating anything that fsx uses, you must update the 32 bit version as well as the 64bit version if your win7 is 64 bit.

Thanks guys, still not working though.

My FSX is in the Program Files (x86) area. Should I uninstall FSX and install into Program Files? Also, I thought (x86) was for 32 bits? My PC is a 64 bit and is still in the (x86) area.

To clarify: The C:\Program Files(x86) directory is the default location for 32-bit software (like FSX) on 64-bit systems. If you decide to reinstall FSX it would be better to use a location completely outside the Program Files directories - for example: C:\FSX

I know plenty of forum members with Win7 who run FSX from the default location with no problems at all. I wouldn't do anything hasty in case you run into more problems.

Thanks a lot man. This seems to have worked. You know when you add AI aircraft from World of AI, I've just done that. Will the AI planes I just installed show up at various airports around the UK?
I installed Flybe.

I had to check this out as I've not tried WOAI in FSX. You can check the airports used in the flight plans from the WOAI Installer. Click on Expert then select the flight plan & click Airport Info. I took this shot at Southampton EGHI.

If you want to use the FSX default traffic you might need to convert the WOAI Traffic BGLs with AIFP. http://stuff4fs.com/open.asp?Folder=AIFP&JS=TRUE
