Installer packages and win 7?

Postby jimm57 » Tue May 03, 2011 2:01 pm

Ever since I moved to Win 7 the installer packages don't work. I get an error: The application could not be installed because the AIR file is damaged. Try obtaining a new AIR file from the application author.

This happened again today with the new repaint and air file for the default C-172: http://simviation.com/1/browse-Props-62 ... 6507#36507

Anyone else having this problem besides me?

This has nothing to do with Win7. You've obviously recently installed Adobe AIR. Probably while updating Adobe Reader. This will automatically associate itself with all AIR files & change the file icon & description. A fix is not necessary as FSX can still read the AIR file. It is NOT an Installer Package so don't try to run it. The only way I know of changing the AIR file icon back to its original appearance is to uninstall Adobe AIR from Add/Remove Programs.
