All add on aircraft have gone grey???

Postby paul123 » Sat Nov 12, 2011 6:04 am

Hi, I have downloaded about 10 add on aircraft about 1 month ago but they have suddenly all have gone grey. They fly fine, the 2d cockpit still has colours, but the exterior and 3d cockpit have lost all colours. All the default aircraft are fine.
Please help... scratching my head here.
Thanks

Check if the DX10 preview box is checked. If it is, uncheck it.

After much frustration, I too found the problem with the "grey" planes was dx10 being activated.....however, with dx10 turned off, my performance goes to the toilet. Sometimes I go from 22-28 fps down to a head-ache inducing 7-9 fps. Do you know if there is a way to accomodate these planes with dx10?

Nope, lower the terrain settings and scenery complexity, that's how I keep FSX running on a cheap 4 year old laptop that I'm using to write this... You want a flight simulator not a scenery simulator.
Or then use native FSX planes that don't go grey with the DX10 on.
