DO NOT install FSX in C/Program Files.
Create a new folder on your hard drive, call it FSX or Flight Simulator X and install the sim software in that folder.

Just don't install anything from Caranado at it will force the files to be installed in the program files folder and the sim will not work.  It will also scramble your computer

more cookies.

FSX won't install in program files as thats the 64bit location, either use default or choose another folder.

Just watch out when flying because the game might crash every once in a while.

There is a fix for the Win 7 lockup.  Look for "uiautomationcore.dll", and install it in your FSX folder.
