Make sure you are using flaps for take off. Also check the weight of the aircraft at takeoff. Some aircraft will automatically default to full pax and fuel putting them over max gross T.O. weight. If all else fails drop some weight and stand on the brakes before takeoff. Happy Tailwinds

Yes, check your aircraft weight. You may be overloaded. Try taking off pax weight and fuel, you will notice a much quicker takeoff. And indeed use the correct amount of flaps!
My specs... A hard drive, motherboard, graphics card, some memory, a keyboard, mouse, and monitor - in other words, nothing special.

I had the same feeling coming from the a330's and a340's.
You have to remember the 777 is as big and wide as a jumbojet. Therefore you need three things:
- Take off from a runway that is long enough
- Make sure you are under maximum take off weight
- Atleast two notches of flaps down
- Take off at maximum throttle

Maybe you could fire up the ol' 172 first and give that a try, "captain".  ;D

Make sue you have the tailplane trim set correctly. You won't take off without it.

When overwieght, here's how I do it.
1.  Press on the parking brake and leave it on until the step that says to turn it off.
2.  Go to about 40-60% throttle and let the engines spool all the way up.
3.  If they're not already, while the engines are spooling up, drop the flaps to takeoff position and probably already trim up some a bit for the actual flight.
4.  Go full throttle and let the engines spool all the way up
5.  Even if you start slowly moving, don't release parking brake until they are FULLY spooled up.
6.  Release the parking brake.
7.  Even when you reach the normal Rotate and V2, don't pitch up quite yet
8.  If you reach about 20-30 knots below your flaps blowout speed, put them all the way up
9.  Pitch up right as the very first markers of near the end of the runway dissapear from view of the cockpit (The white rectangle things on the runway), and when you do, pitch up much more than usual, but still smoothly.
10.  Pray you make it off the runway alive. :D

I would also suggest that the problem is the weight combined with the characteristics of the plane. I just made a quick test and loaded the 777 with the default payload and fuel (which is said to exceed the plane's capacity in 15,000+ pounds) and put it in runway 16R in the Denver International airport - that is a very long runway: wikipedia says it is the longest public use runway in the United States with 16,000 ft in length. Not sure if FSX models that accurately, though, yet it seemed to be pretty long indeed.

In this takeoff, with full throttle and flaps down 2 notches, the plane only took off some 100 feet after the runway ended!!! When I used full flaps, though, it was able to take off in around 2/3rds of the runway.

This was not at all a standard proocedure takeoff - just a small test. Yet it shows that the problem seems to be in the weight of the airplane when you take off. Try to diminish it to fit your trip and also use more flaps - and use only long runways. I guess that this might help!

thnx a lot everyone for all your precious time :)

here are the things which i found out:
1)default weight is well above the allowable weight as stated by Gregorio & raptor22ms
2)i usually fly the 772s as same as the 744 so i put the flaps at 5 usually and trim setting is fyn as well :)
3) after reducing some weight now i am at 38000ft enroute to LHR from DAC
