I tried to download this, but the VC canopy starts out clear and you can see through it, but 1 second later it goes all black and all that you can see through is the HUD.

DX10 Preview is turned off.

You could download DXT.bmp and open the canopy texture in it and invert the alpha, then resave. Sometimes works, sometimes not.....

She loaded fine for me, didn't have any black out problems cept for pulling too many "G's" in flight however you do have to zoom all the way back out to get out of the black out condition in the cockpit and HUD views when you 1st view......your pc is above specs so that's not the problem but what size monitor are you using and what is your sim viewing size set at? Here are my test flight shots of it tonight! 8-)

Hope you figure it out, she was a blast to fly, but very sensitive on final. If you ask me I think the cockpit views were designed for some super huge monitor because I had to go to full zoom out and still could only see out the canopy but cant see gauges without looking down 8-)

hummmmmmmmmmm I don't see why your having a problem viewing if you zoom all the way out on views, I didn't.......however I will say this, I love the new high tech gauges in this cockpit but this is the worst designed cockpit I ever seen far as placements of the views in the cockpit. In my opinion, there's nothing wrong with your pc and changing alphas aint gonna fix jack......this whole cockpit needs to be redesigned period! >:(

There is a fix at Avsim that will fix a few of the models, but not all.

Hey JoBee, that's the fix for this model bud, thanks bud!! 8-) it also fixes a few of the other lil bugs I saw outside the aircraft, I did notice my graphics on the air intakes flickering and this fix claims to fix that as well, so I just downloaded fix from Avsim and I'll let you know if that's the ticket for sure soon as I finish downloading this other plane he want's me to test... 8-)

Yeah your right, it's doesn't fix ALL the models, only a few, but it does add some new models that I hope are all fixed, the fix claims to fix all issues with the cockpit however :-?, now I just gottah try and remember which models are fixed and which are not....why do they put stuff up if the know it's not been tested or fully finished!! Ok so here's my verdit, the RAAF F/A 18 worked perfect! cockpit views are like they should be, I did still see the lil flicker on the intake but it only happens when I cut on all the lights, for some reason on both models when I cut on all the lights I get a big puff of smoke out the intakes for a few secs and then the flicker starts, I guess thats just a effect issue, smoke or steam passing in front of the graphic far as it looks to me, now far as the Boeing F/A 18 goes, it was a pain trying to find which models I fixed in my list as all the files are named one damn thing, your list names them something else & all the thumbnails look just alike so what I'm thinking is......the RAAF & the Boeing are both using what looks to me as the same cockpits, I wonder can I just copy the good cockpit views files from the RAAF F/A 18 and just replace it in all my Boeing F/A 18 models :-? :-? :-?

I'm starting to think either I didn't load these so-called fixes correctly or they are just not working for me, I went as far as deleting all current models in this fix, and added the new ones and the cockpit is still doing the same thing....screw it, I'm just gonna use this other one Pete posted but I wish it had the cool paint jobs.....oh well :-?

Well I got another fix for the cramped cockpit views tip from another one of my sim pilot buddies, he said try zooming the camera back, when fully back hit and hold "ctrl" & "enter" and it will suck you back in the seat and you can now see the gauges correctly and what do you know, it worked!!! ::) Matter fact I love this view even better cause in flight when you speed up it slams you back in the seat and when you slow down you lurch forward in the seat!!! Let me ask you this Capt.Propwash, do you have the SP1 or SP2 updates installed in your sim, I have noticed that a lot of these add on planes wont show up correct without at least that SP1 update installed 8-)

sure do, check my signature below for everything installed .. oh, and you can not install FS SP2 without having SP1 installed. I found that out the hard way. .... well most everything, I do not list all the addon ORBX airports (which i have all except for 1WA6 - Fall City -- where the leaves fall of the trees in the fall season)
