Is there any way to make it so that the map doesnt automatically follow your current position? theres controls for turning on/off airports the flight trail, and everything else but in real life the map doesnt automatically center to the aircraft and I want that off..

thanks.
I am somwhere I don't know where I am!!!

I don't think you can turn off the map trail in flight simulator. Although i'm not sure why it would bother you because you'd have to open up the map to ever see it?

If you're trying to navigate using the map (and navigating becomes quite easy when you know where you are!) then the only thing you can really do is buy a map or aviation chart for the area you fly in the most. I've flown quite accurately by merely using an atlas!
