Guage.cfg question.

Postby coalpedlar » Wed Aug 03, 2011 9:50 am

Here's part of my .cfg file...

gauge46=SimIconsb!GPS Icon,  94,654,19,19
gauge47=SimIconsb!Kneeboard Icon,  116,654,19,19
gauge48=SimIconsb!ECU Icon,  94,676,19,19
gauge49=SimIconsb!Map Icon,  116,676,19,19
guage50=SimIconsb!Radio Icon, 94,698,19,19

Problem is, the Radio Icon doesn't show up on the panel.

...and why is there an exclamation point in each line reference???

SimIcon its a cab file that should be in your main Gauge folder ,but it shouldn't be SimIconb this "b" is what is causing your problem unless is a third party airplane that brought a modified SimIcon gauge and they rename it with the b at the end, check if there is a SimIconb folder of cab inside the panel folder
the "!" expresion its to split to the inside of the cab file

what airplane is that?

It's a G IV- Yes, it's an add-on and it has a few of the icons but not the radio icon.

I have both simicons and simicomsb cab folders in my main gauge folder, but I can't get the radio icon to show up.

I've tried radio Icon, Icon radio- checked other aircraft too...

How does .cfg know whether to get a gauge from the main gauges folder, or from within the aircraft gauge folder?
Thx

make a copy of the panel.cfg (make a backup)

then using notepad just delete the "b"

like this

gauge46=SimIcons!GPS Icon,  94,654,19,19
gauge47=SimIcons!Kneeboard Icon,  116,654,19,19
gauge48=SimIcons!ECU Icon,  94,676,19,19
gauge49=SimIcons!Map Icon,  116,676,19,19
guage50=SimIcons!Radio Icon, 94,698,19,19

the radio icon must be there

If you haven't sorted it out as yet....

Found an instance of SimIconsb.cab in another aircraft. The .xml that displays the Radio icon is 'Avionics Icon.xml'. So you would use.....

gauge50=SimIconsb!Avionics Icon, 94,698,19,19

Likewise, the default SimIcons.dll has only the 'Avionics Icon.xml'

The default SimIcons1024.cab has both Avionics Icon.xml and Radio Icon.xml so either could be used.

guage50= SimIconsb!Radio Icon, 94,698,19,19

At that time [1909] the chief engineer was almost always the chief test pilot as well. That had the fortunate result of eliminating poor engineering early in aviation.

Hey Dave I gave him this

gauge27=SimIcons1024!Radio Icon,  26,379,19,19

It seems that wasn't the radio simicon included

Alrot,

Should work provided he gives it the correct 'gauge##' and doesn't leave the original mispelling of 'guage' in the panel.cfg.

;)
